Run-down hotel with excellent staff

Very jaded feel to this hotel: some room sockets didn't work, corridors smelled of strong detergent, restaurant was dismal. Windows don't block traffic noise, all the electrics droned loudly during the night, and I am no light sleeper. Nice staff though!

Affordable hotel in Doha

The location of the hotel on Google Maps is wrong which is very unfortunate since Doha does not have street numbers and most cab drivers don't even know streets, you have to guide them step by step. The hotel has a restaurant where they also serve the breakfast which you can pay on the spot if it is not included in your room fee.

Ok hotel near Al Souk

Older hotel with large well appointed rooms. Quite near Al Souk, but walk to Souk a bit daunting. Room was quite large. Lunch was reasonably cheap (for Doha) and quite good. Had trouble finding the hotel. A good no frills place to stay.

Minulla oli 9,5 tunnin koneenvaihto Qatarin Dohassa ja päätin käydä kaupungissa nukkumassa kun matkaa on vain 8km. Ensin laukku oli jäänyt Helsinkiin ja toiseksi taksikuski vei minut väärään hotelliin jota en arabiankilisten tekstien vuoksi huomannut kuin vastaanotossa. Kaikenkaikkiaan kun pääsin hotelihuoneeseen ja laitoin puhelimen herättämään, niin lepoaikaa jäi 4 tuntia ja vartti. Vaikutelma hotellista oli että se on ikääntynyt ja tunkkainen, enpä voi suositella.

Hotel há 25 min de caminhada do museu islamico, do mercado e da estação de ônibus.Quarto limpo e acarpetado,espaçoso,cama confortável, chaleira,2 garrafas pequenas de água,chá/café cortesia.Frigobar.Café da manhã buffet c/ 5 opções de pratos quentes,bolos,frios,ovos, etc.Recepcionistas educados e prestativos.Na chegada o hotel providenciou o translado,sem custos.Na saída peguei um taxi "karwa"(empresa do governo)que estava passando.Mercadinhos por perto c/ água, pão, frios...As casas de cambio não aceitam notas de dólar emitidas antes do ano de 2000 e algumas exigem passaporte e visto.O processo de retirada do visto feito através deste hotel foi muito tumultuado:só recebi o documento após enviar autorização de debito da reserva,que já era pré paga,em meu cartão de crédito.

hotel a 25-30 min de caminhada até o museu islâmico,o mercado e o terminal rodoviário. quarto espaçoso e limpo,wi-fi(tem q renovar a senha todo dia),roupa de cama/banho de qualidade,colchão firme,chaleira (chá/café cortesia)e frigo.tv c/ bbc.café da manhã self service,5 pratos quentes,frutas,frios...por QR 30,se não estiver incluído na diária. Funcionários atenciosos.O translado do aeroporto custa QR90 e QR 70 p/retorno.Na chegada não me foi cobrado e na partida peguei um taxi na rua,QR 28 no período da noite.O único problema foi em relação ao visto, solicitado através do hotel.Enviei os docu/os em 01/03,fui debitada no cartão em 7/03,o visto saiu em 12/03,mas até 26/03, na véspera da viagem(cheguei 28)não havia recebido,mesmo após mais de 40 emails serem trocados e todos os docu/os solicitados serem enviados.Não sei qual a questão c/ Hoteis.com/Expedia,mas mesmo esclarecendo q a reserva era pré paga,enquanto não enviei autorização p/ débito das diárias em meu cartão de crédito não recebi o visto. Comuniquei à Hoteis.com a situação,que entrou em contato por 2 vezes mas a resposta era a mesma:"está tudo certo, não há problemas c/ a reserva".Então, se resolverem ficar no City Inn all Seef providenciem o visto por agencia de turismo, pois o stress é grande fazendo direto c/o hotel. Me senti desrespeitada c/ a situação pois o hotel recebeu o montante cobrado e o visto estava pronto.

lovely stay

Booked from feb 18-27...city inn al seef was fully booked so they upgraded us to a much modern 4star hotel..so we ended up in Plaza Inn hotel..room was ok..bed was comfy...its about less than 10min walk to corniche and accessible to areas such souq waqif and city center...we were satisfied with our stay so extended our stay for 2 more nights but for a higher price which was ok...the best thing about this hotel was their service..very nice receptionists and staffs..would definitely come back when i visit doha again.

Excellent Hotel

very good hotel for business. have restaurant and grocery around. Cornishe is five minutes walking. Mark and the Ladies at the receiption are great. Great team and excellent hotel. I'm coming back once again after 10 days.

Had an 11 hour weekend layover, so ventured out into Doha. For a tourist on a Friday, there is virtually nothing to do near this hotel, everything requires a short cab ride, which was not the end of the world. 1st room given was probably 90 degrees, AC not turned on and stunningly smokey. 2nd room was cool and ok. Wifi only in lobby, which is pretty lame for 2004 let alone 2014. Yes, its Doha, but this is a 2 Star hotel at best.
