Walking distance to attractions
Very basic and small hotel room. Strong cigarette smell. I needed to spend only few hours because of a transit so for the price it was ok for me.
Best thing was free pickup and drop off at the airport.
Cons
Uncomfortable Bed and much smaller than the pictures
Old furniture
No towels in the bathroom. Have to call to get towels.
Shower didn't work properly
Weird black stuff coming out of the AC and falling on the bed
AC was too loud
No outlet to put in the iPhone plugs to charge phones
Insect in the coffee provided at breakfast
The reception ladies during the day don't understand English properly. Which is okay. However they were a bit weird. They showed me a pamphlet which had some places to visit but they wanted it back and wouldn't let me keep it.
Pros
Breakfast did look decent besides the insect in the coffee.
Free pick and drop from the airport
Good location next to Souq Waqif. The free museum of Islamic art is easily walkable.
I stayed in a single room for 3 nights in September 2016. The quality is fair enough for the price they are asking. I will say that this is a 2 stars hotel. One negative aspect, for me, was the fact that, they didn't have hot water. No matter how much I phoned the reception, they were not able to provide with hot/warm water to shower, so showering in the morning, wasn't an option for me; I had to wait until mid day when it was very hot outside, to actually shower. The breakfast variety was just OK, nothing special, but "Joy" the Philippine lady who was in charge of the breakfast was very nice and attentive. (excellent customer service from Joy). A positive aspect is that the hotel is walking distance to the Souq (about 7 minutes walking), a medium size mosque was right beside the hotel making the area decent, safe, within limits and exceptions, of course. Also, about 12 minutes walking distance you have the Royal Palace of Doha and about 15 min walking distance you have the waterfront, with boat tours and Islamic Museum and more. So location was good.

Al-Nakheel Hotel: A+ for those on a budget!
I visited Doha for 5 nights - as a journalist, covering a major international sporting event. I needed a comfortable, safe, inexpensive, well located hotel. The Al-Nakheel met my requirements perfectly - and I look forward to staying there again.
The FREE breakfast buffet was a nice benefit.
All in all, I was treated very well.
Very good location
Good brekkie
Clean tidy room
great staff

Calm and comfy
This Hotel is nice, calm and comfy. Especially the staffs is so kind. You can take services to pick up at and send to Doha airport. But only disappointing was the temperature of hot water at bathroom. It wasn't hot.
The elevator looks new, but the room is quite old. If staying one night would be acceptable, but not recommended for loner stay due to old fashioned and noisy air conditionar.

we emailer the hotel twice on the email listed on their website to arrange the free pickup from the airport. On arrival there was no one there and we had to pay for a taxi. On check in they told us that they no longer check that email. There was no apology or refund offered.
No hot water
Window AC is like generator noise
Room is 2 small
Windows do not open
No cover for lightings wrong position
Lamps 2 old hot
No proper electrical outlets

good for transit stop in Doha
was the "cheapest" place I've found, for about 50 EURO by European standards too expensive
but is quite central, to Souq Waqif only 5 min, Doha Corniche about 10 minutes
Transfer to the airport is free (order at time of booking, you will be picked up)
Många byggen pågick i närområdet.
This motel is for the budget minded traveler who isn't going to stay in the room much. It's ok for a 1 night stay. The room is clean but in desperate need of updating. There are 4 free parking spaces and the breakfast buffet is decent. The Google map direction puts it right in the souq which was very deceiving and was the only reason I booked this property, however, It is just a 5 minute walk to the souq. FYI a mosque is right next door and during prayers, it does get loud.
My room would definitly need a refresh.
the window was closed by some tape, the painting on the bathroom floor was getting away.
Well quite expensive for what you get.
