"Terrible experience with Hotel Stendel and Hotels.com. Room 102 (Superior Hill View) was unlivable: Crusted feces in the toilet, broken seat, cistern leaking water non-stop, and black hair all over the floor and shower drain (I have blonde hair). The mirror was cracked and smudged, and there was a spider on the curtains. An external generator ran right next to the room all night until 9 AM, making sleep impossible. Hill View only overlooked parked cars and construction. Front desk...

Lchang Nang Retreat - The House of Trees

10/10 Excellent

"Great property with a bunch of complimentary activities and free bikes to ride around. Very close to the Sumur sand dunes. The food is just basic, they could do better in this department. However, it is easy to get a reservation at Kyagar that is right next door and has better food in my opinion. Accessibility for the elderly or those physically challenged could also be better, some of the stairs were too high for my mother to use with easy, the staff was very receptive of this though and took pictures immediately of the stair to share with the management. The staff was great! I would recommend"

The room is large and spacious, which consists of 2 beds, and provides all the amenities that one could need. It's got a wonderful view, a nice lounge area and a smart TV. The beds and bathroom are hygienic and maintained well to a high standard. The main garden and landscape in front of the hotel is beautiful. With comfortable chairs and massive mountains overlooking us from the back of the hotel. We had breakfast and dinner on all days of our stay. Every dish was prepared well and tasted delicious. Importantly, the staff are very responsive, helpful and always engaging you with a smile. A special mention to Nikhil and Suraj who ensured that we were comfortable and always available when needed. Overall, a very pleasant experience which elevates the memory of a wonderful trip to Ladakh."

The Unalome Resort

10/10 Excellent

"This is a lovely little oasis with spacious, well-lit, clean rooms. The restaurant serves tasty home made food and the staff went above and beyond to make our stay as comfortable and pleasant as possible. My partner was feeling sick when we checked in so the staff took extra care of us - liaised with our driver to coordinate a change in our plans and even gave us some electrolytes to make sure he stays hydrated. The location is a bit of a walk from the main street with other restaurants ans shops but if you're happy to eat at the property (the food is diverse and good quality) or have a driver to take you around, that won't be a problem. The slightly tucked away street means the stars are more easily visible at night, which was a pleasant surprise. Highly recommend staying here!"
