Very much off season, so very quiet.
Staff were great, helpful and friendly.
Room was large, bed was comfortable, but the bathroom was tired.
Had dinner and the food was good, service prompt.
Room was clean and comfortable but did not have air con or ceiling fans which we would have used as temps were low 30s . Good kitchenette and spacious room.
Enjoyed our meal in the restaurant and the flavoured icecreams available on site.
We stayed in Summer between Christmas and New Year’s therefore not much open. The room was big, very clean and bed was very good. Common area is a big tired. Would have been interesting to stay when pub open and more people around.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
Unfortunately they are focused on winter, completely ignoring the summer opportunities of hiking and mountain biking- the room had no air conditioning- only heating. Only one flat pillow with no second pillow available. Television in the rooms was not working. Went to the hotel on site for dinner and food was excellent.
Checkin was awkward as there was no assistance. Room was OK but the bar fridge was very loud each time the compressor turned on. I was the only one in the hotel.
The room was a little bit cold.
Did mot have individual heating

Liked: Staff & service
The heater did not work in my room - the staff provided a small space heater which took the edge off the chill, however not really good enough for an alpine hotel room to not have functional heating.
Property is badly managed. Mould in shower, another couple tried to book in (4.30 pm) but couldnt as room hadnt been cleaned from the day before. No cooling in the room.
Old fridge noisey. Bar manager arrogant, brought a pint of Furthy beer and got charge $17.85, I asked if that was correct and he said thats tax mate the made a comment of tight arse tourist to other patrons when I left the bar.
Would not recommend this place to anyone visiting such a lovely area due to the staff and condition and cleanliness of the rooms
we came to Dinner Plain for a wedding and booked our accommodation here, on the invitation it said most places are within walking distance.. yeah?OK. so surprised to find we were very close by.. too easy.Loved waking up to a cool foggy morning after all the heat of home.
We had such a wonderful stay and David who manages the hotel was extremely helpful and friendly.
Our room was comfortable, spacious and clean. The restaurant food/wine was excellent and good value and Lauren our waitress excellent.
Thank you David to you and your team for a relaxing holiday. We'll be back!
Cheers
Sue and George
We were greeted in reception at High Plains like long lost friends.....by the owners dog who was very happy to see us :-) The room was clean and airy and very comfortable for our stay. We ate at the hotels restaurant after pre-dinner drinks in the adjoining bar and were very pleased at the variety on the menu. Our host, David, although busy at dinner time, took time with every patron in ensuring their stay was memorable.

We stayed here for 1 night on New year's eve, nice place to stay though it has its pros & cons
Pro's: Staff were really good. Room was spacious as described, Bar & Restaurant were great with delicious food.
Con's: There are Sounds all over from people passing through door and from surrrounding stays.
The Air Conditioner(we searched for remote but couldnt find one in room may be not remote controlled or may be directly connected to main power) is running the whole night (I think it is) bcoz it made some compressor on,off sounds but I dont think it really worked out. It was really hot during night and felt bad waking up in the middle of night for air( as we cant keep curtains/Blinds open due to privacy from other residents). we felt like any stand fan or Air Conditioner in working condition will do good....Thanks
