Daily walks to the beach a block away under the palm trees…listening to music with a cool drink from the shade of the back porch…sitting on the front porch watching happy families wave hello- this is the stuff that Destin vacations are made of.

Walking on Sunshine’s meandering interior is ideal for a variety of guests vacationing together. Fast internet and FIVE smart, large flat screen TVs await you throughout the home for those times when you just want to kick back and relax. Stream your favorite binge worthy shows, or video conference with family, friends or even work. TWO downstairs entertainment rooms with large wall-mounted TVs and comfortable seating areas; a full dining room; a kitchen with all the accouterments to prepare your personal favorite dish; and three quiet bedrooms upstairs, all with large, smart flat screen TVs allow opportunity for each person to vacation at their speed. Plus, practical amenities like a full size laundry room, BBQ grill, plenty of parking, beach wagon, and pool toys.

Just a couple of blocks to Destin Commons, this great location in Crystal Beach allows you to walk to the beach or restaurants only improves the sunny disposition of this home. It will feel so good to let your plans be guided by positive things like whether to have a pool day or a beach day. A golf day or a shopping day? We do not rent to anyone under 25 or to students. We require 1 parent for every 2 people under 25.

Guests receive a welcome kit with small dishwasher detergent, dish soap, sponge, a roll of paper towels, and laundry detergent. There will be an initial trash liner in each receptacle and a set of toilet paper and soaps for each bathroom provided. Guests will need to replenish supplies for longer stays.

In addition to our welcome kit, we also supply basic cooking essentials like salt, pepper, and oil.
This property comes with 4 parking spaces.

This home is pet friendly. You must pay a pet fee (please inquire about cost before booking) and provide up to date shot records.

There are several pool towels provided for your stay but must remain in the vacation rental and not be taken home.

In the cooler seasons, pool can be heated for a fee.

Great stay!!

We enjoyed our time at Walking On Sunshine!! Our family of 5 (ranging from ages 5-38) had plenty to keep us entertained at the house and in the area. The house was clean and well kept, well stocked, and had good customer service.

Short stay

The day before we were leaving there was a ROACH on the kitchen counter!! Really disgusting and freaked us out!! I called the next morning to complain and they said it was no big deal they were common in FL. They wanted to have pest control come and spray while we were in the house but we didn’t want to breathe that stuff in so told them to come the next day after we check out! Otherwise, it was a beautiful rental! I would just ask about roaches if you want to book it.

Fit Our Needs

This home was spacious enough for our family of 5 to enjoy each other and to have our own privacy. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook meals. Having two tv’s and living areas downstairs was ideal for having young children. I rated cleanliness with a 4/5 because there was dog feces and empty beer cans and juice boxes on the pool deck when we arrived. The pool chairs were not organized and it was if the pool deck hadn’t been touched. We did not bring our dogs, so I’m sure it wasn’t from us. Most of the chairs on the front porch were broken, but aside from that, the interior of the home was well kept. The location to the beach was great but we did rent a golf cart to make it easier for transport out items. This home is just two houses from a 4 way stop sign, so you can hear traffic from the master bedroom early in the morning. If you’re a heavy sleeper, no worries, but it bothered me. Blackout curtains in the master would be great. All in all, we would stay again!

Not clean or kept well

Upon arrival there were roaches in the kitchen coming out of the kitchen light fixture, huge dog poop on the pool deck after it clearly states on the contract no dogs allowed on pool deck as it is against the Florida health department code, there is no way this property was properly cleaned between guests and so much more wrong with this property. Even all of the vents for ac were dirty and rusted. This house can use a lot of TLC. I would not recommend working with VRBO their customer service was horrible dealing with this as feces and roaches with children is definitely a health and safety issue. The management company that runs the property did work with us eventually so we can leave early but it took a while to get them to agree (hours on the phone from 7 pm until 10 am the next day) they also eventually reimbursed us partially and they only gaVe a partial reimbursement a few weeks later.

the property was a good location.. the house interior and furniture needs updating. the lighting inside is lacking in several areas, such as over the dining area there is no light. there was no DVD player in the whole house so we had to have the maintenance person install one. the TVs are hung high on the wall so your neck hurts after watching them..of course, if your used to this then its not an issue the beds are old, so your back is going to hurt every morning. the overall condition of the house is basically aged 1999/2000 style. communication with the manager is difficult..they have to get back to you, its usually a day turn around... the only good thing is you can bring your dogs, and we were going to but at the last minute we got a sitter.. so the house was no longer relevant so for the price, i will look for another house in 2022

A good time was had

This house is in a great location if you don’t want to pay waterfront prices. It’s a 3 block walk to the beach. I’m giving 4 stars instead of 5 because it could really use a deep cleaning and some routine maintenance. There is some mold on the ceilings in the master bath and closet. There is also a rug in the front family room that has a curled edge. I tripped over it many times. Fortunately, I didn’t actually fall and smack my head on the heavy wooden coffee table. The pool was absolutely fantastic. We had a great vacation and enjoyed our stay.

Property was clean. Location is 3 blocks from beach and 3 blocks from shopping and movie theater. Lots of restaurants close by. The pool is the perfect size. I stayed for a month. I had one issue with the toilet and it was handled immediately. Bikes are provided and there are nice bike paths along the scenic drive. I felt very safe in the neighborhood even when I was there as a woman alone. I met the owner and he was very kind and even left me a small souvenir.

Walking on Sunshine

The house was very nice. Could be cleaner (the floors and small rugs ) they needed cleaned and floors just needed washed with some water with cleaner. The hot water needs a plumber to fix it has faucets bleeding over which made the master bathroom hot water hard to get because it would bleed to another faucet. We have owned a plumbing company so knew the problem but need to track which faucet is causing the problem. The place was very roomy for a party of five and easy to leave. Yes we would stay there again providing they fixed the hot water problem in master bathroom. I like things clean and think your cleaners could do a better job. Especially dog hair under sofas.

Sunshine was perfect for my family and 2 four legged furry friends. Short walk to the public beach and there is an outside shower to rinse off the salt water. There’s enough yard space for my dogs to sunbathe in a private fenced backyard. The pool looked bigger in the pix but was perfect for a family of six. House is away from major traffic but close enough to the main artery and restaurants . 20 minute drive to Ft Walton Beach, Marina’s and Destin Harbor Boardwalk. 10-15 minute drive to Village of Baytowne Wharf. My only complaint was the shower heads in the master bathroom didn’t work and the inner shower curtain had mildew. All the bathrooms were stock with more than enough towels and extra blankets. The photos advertised is exactly what you get. Nicely decorated and very spacious. The enclosed porch was nice to eat evening dinners without worrying about flying raisins aka flies.

Great home for vacation

Great single family home in a quiet neighborhood. Less than a 5 minute walk to the beach. Less than a 10 minute walk to Destin Commons. Home feels like a home, not a vacation rental. We had 2 adults and 3 kids (12, 8, and 4) and the home was a prefect size.
