Home2 Suites By Hilton Destin

10/10 Excellent

"Location is very good, walking distance to Destin beach (most private) and short driving distance from beautiful Norriego Point (few parking spots) and Henderson State Park($6 admission fee and plenty of parking and no, no BS of private beaches). Breakfast is ok for few days, the breakfast area gets really packed during season but the hotel make extra effort to replenish item timely. I did notice their effort, I saw people eating 7-8 eggs alone, 3-4 waffles piled up, not sure why people do that, just because it’s free. Pool is good for the day, after 8pm it gets really, really packed, again in season July. Rooms could be a little newer and cleaner. They have a Enough parking spots for its capacity, even when the hotel is full. Parking Area is really safe for the vehicles. Some good restaurants near, walk or driving distance. I overall recommend the hotel."

"Located directly in city and walking distance of attractions. Highway is very congested there and public beach access points are very small. Go to Huntington Beach state park, online reservations required. Windows have no blackout curtains, condo has no elevators, but only two stories high. Inside area smells strong of chlorine, and very air conditioned, indoor pool is kind of cold. Overall great family friendly place to stay, everyone was nice from staff to other families staying there. Movie theater room has board games and tables to sit and play at. Movies are pretty new and we watched the newest Mario movie in there. We brought in our own snacks, drinks, and popcorn. Take the back roads when headed to shops or food, there is also a public park with playground at the baseball fields located just down that back road, go visit."

"Overall, our stay was good, and the staff was friendly. The location was convenient and made it easy to enjoy our trip to Destin. That said, I think the hotel could do a better job with cleanliness. The common areas and some parts of the hotel didn’t feel as clean as I expected. Breakfast was also a bit disappointing. During our first couple of mornings, it was fine, but by our third day they had run out of several food items, so there were very limited options available. I was expecting a more consistent breakfast experience throughout our stay. Overall, we had a pleasant trip, but I hope the hotel improves its cleanliness and keeps the breakfast better stocked for future guests."

"Did not like the check is process. Like having an actual person behind the desk. Unable to connect to wifi, but no one to ask in the office and the number listed in the room info did not connect me to anyone when I called it. The facility was clean and the cleaning staff was very nice and helpful. Pool seemed well maintained."

"The hotel is in a busy touristy area - which we thought was a positive. We liked being able to walk to shops or to eat something. The room was ok - clean and maintained enough. The two biggest downsides were there were no where to hang towels, swim suits, beach towels, etc. How are we supposed to house a room with 4 people and have not one towel rack or knobs on the walls. The other issue was there was sand everywhere - when we checked in the room was already dealing with some, and then as you came and went, more entered. It would have been great to even have brooms in the room to be able to keep up. We did not utilize the pool as it wasn't very big - and there was continual construction right outside the gate. We did have breakfast each day - but don't expect anything over the top. Got the job done - but there was very limited seating. We did utilized the lounge area later in the day to play cards, but for breakfast it wasn't the best setup. Overall - we got what we paid for - and enjoyed our time."
