"The guy that checked us in was very pleasant and helpful. The girls in the mornning didn't acknowledge us. The room was very clean and comfortable. We missed breakfast because of the time--thought Central and it was Eastern--maybe staff could advise at check-in. But maybe our fault. It was a very nice place to stay."
"There was plenty of parking but that is the extent of the pluses. The person who checked me in did not code the key card properly so that was the first thing. The ice machine was broken. The sheets had an acne sticker fused to the sheet. There was a spot of blood on the sheet as well. The water was very hot in the sink but just a little over warm in the shower. The shower head needs replacing or the water pressure is just terrible but all it did was a little more than a trickle. We went down for breakfast, there was no meat. They had scrambled eggs, biscuits and a powdered gravy. There was a pancake machine but they came out very flat and barely warm enough to melt the butter. The oj was bitter and they seemed to shut off the machine around 9am. I would not recommend this property to anyone."
Lakeside Cabin Near Holiday World Perfect for Families & Friends
10/10 Excellent
"Everything was splendid. The cabin, the amenities, the hot tub, the privacy, the lake.... We did not want for anything other than food, beverages, bait and tackle. The fishing was a lot of fun and kept us pretty busy. The host was super responsive, helpful, friendly, and cares about the visitors. We had a great time and look forward to returning."
"Beautiful scenery, great space for a family, lots to to do! Pool table, ping pong, poker table, lots of tvs, great space by the lake! Even the beds were comfortable. Would highly recommend! "
"Everything was very nice and well stocked. We had been here but a short time and my wife said "I could live here. Easily". Such a relaxing spot. We spent the majority of our time on that wonderful deck, enjoying the sights and sounds of the river. There were a variety of birds with also ducks, geese and a loon, fish jumping, a couple of squirrels jumping and playing. Saturday there were 3 barges passing in opposite directions at once. Sunday morning, just after sunrise, two were passing at the same time. Very peaceful.Saturday afternoon we made an hour drive over to The Log Inn, in Haubstadt. Built in 1825. One of the old, original rooms, was dined in by Abe Lincoln. Worth the drive.Derby is a nice, friendly little town."
‘’Castle Colucci’’Magnet Indiana,a slice of Heaven where the world stands still.
8/10 Good
"Overall, this was not a bad place to stay. Let’s start with the positives. It is in a beautiful, secluded setting with amazing river views. We enjoyed waking up every morning and watching the sunrise over the river. It was so peaceful! A great place to escape the hustle and bustle of our busy lives. The cabin was well stocked with everything from dishes and kitchen utensils and coffee to bedding, pillows, towels, and soap. It really felt like a home away from home. There is also plenty of parking, and the owners were easy to communicate with, very friendly and hospitable. My kids loved the pool table and hot tub. Now for the negatives. (There aren’t many.) This cabin technically sleeps 25 or so. While technically true, it is VERY crowded at that capacity. I’d say 12-16 at most, if you want to be comfortable. Also, the mattresses, and TVs are on severe need of an upgrade. The water heater also has a hard time keeping up with lots of people. There were a few little things, like a leaky faucet, a toilet handle that stuck, and broken drawers in the fridge. Not a big deal. Just little things from normal wear and tear. But I would definitely recommend the Castle Colucci and would also consider staying again. "
