Hi Ingrid, It is unfortunate that you do not understand how to use the Stayz platform nor the messaging system. You booked your stay for two separate dates due to your confusion and I believe that I refunded the double booking in full immediately the mistake was identified. I spoke with you extensively on the phone prior to your arrival and tried to help you to navigate the Stayz page but you seemed incapable of comprehension. You misunderstood basic instructions and references and it is unfair to blame your lack of English language fluency on others. I also sent you screen shots of the Stayz communications sent to you because you weren't able to figure out how to see the messages that were sent to you. There were very many messages. They were clear, they were kind and they were generous. I contacted you frequently and in a very timely manner. You were sent access instructions and the key was in place more than 8 hours before your arrival. Your request for milk was heeded and I arrived at the property less than 30 minutes from your arrival with the milk. Sadly, yes, you had already gone to the shops. I could not get there at the time of your arrival as I noted with your friend. You also arrived at an unusual time due to your lack of vehicle. I am sorry that you could not celebrate the things that I did for you, lengthy phone conversations, patience and kindness, refunds, milk (not a part of our stay) and our beautiful house that was immaculately presented.

Thank you so much for your kind thoughts and positive reflections. We found a new dining table that fits and moved it in on the day you left so that the wicker table and chairs are on the front verandah now. However, it would be really useful if you could tell us any other furnishings that you feel we could try to include. We appreciate any feedback and are responding as guests let us know what they feel could improve and what things should be prioritised. We are very distressed by this review. Whilst some of the furnishings may be old and have marks on them, we feel it is charming and warm. We pay attention to the cleaning and if there was a 'stain' on a pillowcase then that is not something that is caused by the linen not being washed or attended to. The refrigerator is clean and I am confused about the comments in this regards. I am not sure why the guest has given our beautiful property this damaging review but we can only assure people that we maintain and attend to all aspects of cleaning between each guest stay and that we are saddened by the unkind comments to our house. The garden may be a little overgrown, but it is a winter garden, there are winter grasses and some weeds but, there are also beautiful flowers, daisies popping out for an early spring, proteas forming and delightful bursts of colour everywhere. Perhaps the guests might think about booking a different level of accommodation in the future if they are requiring high end furnishings and pristine environments? Our house is humble, comfortable and kind. It is managed by local working parents who love this historical home and who tend to it with care.
