House was clean and well appointed and has a bunch of games and tv. Has multiple spots for fire pits. Great layout for 2 families with kids. Lake is super clear and big and great for swimming, pulling a tube, or water skiing. Rented very nice boat from owner. We had a great time and would return!

This is a beautiful property and clean! We had a wonderful time even though the fishing on Deer Lake is tough! The lake offers a lot from beaches, unbelievably clean water, islands, and a hiking trail on Bear Island. Shout out to Tim, the property manager! He was fantastic at communication, taking care of any issues/concerns and very personable! Great trip!
The home is like “home on the lake”. The pontoon is great as was the fishing! We had a couple of rain days and wind, but the other days on the lake were fantastic. Something for every age - the 10, 13 & 16 yr olds fished, tubed and their parents even had time to read! As the grandparents we loved every minute sharing time & memories with them and kayaked as often as we could
Loved this property, private, secluded!!! Excellent fishing, swimmimg, kayaking, paddleboarding. Well stocked cabin. Perfect for family. Just so others are aware...steep incline to lake. This place was amazing.
We stayed for a week in this beautiful house on lake set in the woods. Absolutely a great place to relax, fish and enjoy the scenery. The house was very clean and comfortable with plenty of room to move around with my kids and grandkids.
This is a beautiful property! We enjoyed the lake and the awesome fire pit for nightly s’mores. The “cabin” was clean, the decor was really great and plenty of room for the 9 of us. I would highly recommend staying here and we plan on returning!
We booked this property for our 20th Guys Trip Anniversary, and the property did not disappoint in one fashion. The cabin is immaculate and handled all 6 of us with ease. The cabin/furnishings are some of the best, if not the best, we have stayed at in the past 6 years of booking through VRBO in the area. The fishing on the lake, which is what we do for 8 hours a day, was non-stop action.
Overall, I would highly recommend booking a stay.
What a special place!! My family stayed and had an incredible week of fishing, water sports, camp fires…etc. It’s obvious the owner has invested a lot mentally and financially into creating a vacation get away perfect for everyone. Board games, kitchen supplies, entertainment and recreational. Plus their pontoon boat for rent is extremely nice and worth it if you’re needing a rental. We already signed up for next year.
Our cabin stay hosted by Jason was simply amazing. Thorough communication prior to booking, leading up to our stay, and checking in upon check in. The cabin was very clean and everything was in excellent condition. The kitchen was well stocked, beds were extremely comfortable, location was quiet, overall a fantastic stay. Improvement ideas are step access down to the water— scheduled for July 2022 (we can’t wait to see pictures) and electricity down to the dock versus multiple extension chords. The lawn was mowed while we were there but the clippings were blown onto the outdoor patio and seating area including on the tables and chairs. We swept and wiped everything off but if the company responsible could use a blower that would be great! We are looking forward to another stay at Deer Lake in the future!
The cabin was decorated lovely and had plenty of towels, blankets, and extra pillows. Everything was well organized.
Unfortunately, the mosquitoes made the time pretty miserable. We couldn't spend 10 seconds outside. The owners are not at fault for the insects, but a screen porch would have improved our experience immensely.
Choose this cabin if every one will be on the same schedule The open loft makes it challenging for early risers and night owls not to disrupt each other. We would also put felt on the dining room chairs because the floor scrape is loud. Lastly, a rental with a welcome basket, maybe with coffee/tea provided, is more inviting.
Quiet setting. Nice house. Pontoon boat was very nice. We enjoyed being on the lake, fishing and the fire pit. We came in October and had 75 degrees on Tuesday and snow on Friday it was awesome.
Perfect cabin, very roomy. Superb addition to landscaping by the lake shore! So beautiful to sit by the fire and look at all of the Milky Way! Would absolutely come again and again. Jason was very accessible and friendly.
We are long time renters on Deer lake but first time at this property. The house was great and newly renovated. The kitchen was well stocked, there were plenty of towels and linens, good internet and plenty of streaming services on TV. We had several days in the 90s and the AC worked great and the house was comfortable. On Monday we had either a tornado or tornado force winds but the house is sturdy and we were safe.
Our boat didn't fare so well after both docking broke but the dock stood strong. The dock is long and has plenty of room for a boat. There is a dock ladder so getting in and out to swim is great. As someone mentioned there isn't electric at the dock but there is plenty of extension cords to run it from the house.
Someone mentioned mosquitoes in a review but they weren't bad. We rarely saw them during the day but like most places in MN they emerge at dark.
Overall it was a great place and one of the better VRBO experience we've had. Hope to come back next year.
