Skye Lodge is 725 square feet luxury lodge apartment on the top floor of a private vacation home. Located on a cliff wall 150 Ft. above the canyon floor in the heart of Spearfish Canyon where Spearfish Canyon and Roughlock Canyon join. Spearfish Falls and Roughlock Falls can be accessed from the house or by a hiking trail across the access road from the lodge. FANTASTIC VIEWS, WILDLIFE, BIRDS OF PREY (BALD EAGLES, PEREGINE FALCONS, OSPREYS, VULTURES ), HIKING, BIKING, ROCK CLIMBING, PHOTOGRAPHY, TROUT FISHING , OR JUST HANGING OUT. THE STARS AT NIGHT. --- GREAT COUPLES RETREAT. --
Your apartment has a private entrance and deck with BBQ and seating. Inside the apartment you will find a full kitchen with dishwasher, copper sink, condiments, coffee beans and grinder. dining table, hardwood floors, leather furniture, 3 by 6 tiled shower, small library, one queen and one full bed, wifi and streaming tv. 12 miles to Deadwood and 12 miles to Spearfish.
IN THE SUMMER WE HAVE NESTING PEREGRIN FALCONS ON THE CLIFF WALL BEHIND THE HOUSE AND NESTING OSPREY FALCONS 1/2 MILE DOWN THE ROAD THAT HUNT A POND AT THE DRIVEWAY ENTRANCE.

Comfortable Stay w/Beautiful Views

Greg has a nicely appointed and well-stocked apartment in the heart of Spearfish Canyon, which made for an enjoyable and relaxing stay. Nice kitchen, bathroom, and bed. Comfortable for me, my wife and infant daughter and the views were beautiful.

Absolutely gorgeous views!! Host was an amazing person, he explained everything about the property and sites to see why’ll we were staying. Ten days was not long enough and would go back in a heart beat!!

Spearfish Canyon

Great location for the area around Spearfish, Lead and Deadwood. Hiking and biking close-by and views from the apartment are fabulous. Very confortable and well-equipped condo.

Retreat in the clouds.

An amazing cabin, high on the ledge of the mountain. Note: the drive up to this cabin is very steep, 4-wheel drive is helpful. The view is spectacular, but we enjoyed the star filled night sky the most. Cabin is clean and well stocked. We cooked in every night and enjoyed the kitchen and outdoor grill.

The pictures don't do it justice. Beautiful setting with great views and the cabin was beautifully done everything very high end and well done. Greg is an excellent gracious host who was very helpful answering all of our questions about the area.

Stunning property

This property was just as promised. The location was unbeatable, and the views were stupendous. It was right in the heart of Spearfish Canyon, so everything we wanted was nearby. The lodge itself was beautifully furnished and had every possible comfort. Greg was incredibly helpful and easy to reach. We only wish our schedules would have allowed us to stay longer.

My 50th Birthday Getaway With Wife.

AMAZING!!! The views are stunning, the place is very clean, cozy, and much bigger than it looks online. Greg was a great host and and super informative when telling us about the local area. After riding SXS for two days it was so nice to know we had such a great place to go relax and unwind.

Spearfish must stay location

The property honestly was even more beautiful than the photos. The house was decorated with such care and attention to the culture and surrounding area it really impressed us. Kitchen is fully stocked , you wont need a thing ! So close to everything we wanted to see and a super amazing , helpful host to top it off. We loved our stay and hope to come back soon!

Lovely cabin in a gorgeous place

Greg’s place is right in Spearfish Canyon, so the location is perfect for climbing, mountain biking, swimming, fishing—pretty much whatever you want to do. Blue Sky and Mohican are within walking distance; lots of trails are within biking distance. The cabin is very clean and well-kept. If you’re coming to Spearfish Canyon, this is the place to stay.

Magnificent setting

My wife and I loved our stay in Spearfish Canyon - surely one of the most beautiful places on earth. She said it was like staying in a cathedral, surrounded as we were by the canyon walls and forest. Thank you, Greg, for a wonderful visit to the Black Hills area. Your home is beyond words.

Incredible Views + Comfortable and Clean Cabin = Great Time

Greg was a great host! The views from the cabin really were incredible, and the whole Spearfish Canyon area is so beautiful. We enjoyed seeing deer in the mornings right outside the lodge, as well as sitting on the deck in the evenings and watching the hummingbirds. There's plenty to do with hiking, fishing, renting ATVs, horseback riding, and so much more. There are also great places nearby to eat. Greg was very helpful with suggestions and advice on things to do in the area. Thanks for a great time!

Awesome view

This place is in the heart of Spearfish canyon and view of the canyon is awesome. The cottage was perfect for us. Hikes, lake, waterfalls, historic sites (national fish hatchery, devils tower and deadwood) and wildlife are all close by including the baby mountain goats. Greg was a great host. He provided maps, information (lots of brochures and great collection of books) and advice on seeing the best of the area. Close to many good restaurants in Spearfish. Highly recommended!

Vacation home in Spearfish Canyon

This is a beautiful area and the home is right in the middle of it. There are many trails to explore near the house. Be aware that the driveway is very steep but it gives you breathtaking views of the canyon. The house was very clean and Greg was very accommodating. He pointed out many points of interest and good recommendations of places to eat. It was a great experience.

Skyelodge was the perfect way to end our South Dakota vacation!

This house has the most spectacular views of Spearfish Canyon! The property was everything we had hoped for, tranquility after having visited Deadwood and Sturgis. We spent hours on the deck and front yard marveling at the grounds and surrounding canyon. The house was clean and meticulously appointed. Our host greeted us and gave excellent advice about things to see and do during our stay. We were pleased to find Latchstring Restaurant only a few miles away, the food and views were fantastic! My husband brought his fly fishing gear and found great places a short distance from the property to fish. Overall, we are so pleased that we chose Skye Lodge, and would highly recommend it to friends and family traveling through Spearfish Canyon, SD.

A little piece of heaven!!

Greg was an awesome host, place was clean and had all the amenities we needed. Grill was a bonus as it made evening meals super easy. The view from the large windows or deck were amazing. Each night as the canyon cooled we would enjoy the patio and the sites and smells of the canyon. Location was perfect, just minutes from Spearfish Canyon Lodge. The drive up to the location was a bit of an experience the first time, but after a couple trips up and down you got used to it.

Great cabin in beautiful canyon

The cabin had all amenities. We had a beautiful view of Spearfish Canyon out three large windows. We hiked and fished the creek for rainbows and browns. Greg the owner provided hiking maps and guidance on fishing areas. You are only a few miles from the towns of Spearfish and Deadwood to get supplies. The kitchen was well equiped with essentials and we prepared all our own meals except one. I would highly recommend.
