Magical Black Hills. Don't Stay in Just Any House. Stay in a True Log Home!
Make my home your home for your get away, and enjoy relaxation and time together. The outdoors off my back deck, the trails nearby, and ribbons of paved black top are your gateway to the Black Hills.
Looking for someplace to call home when getting away from it all? Old No. 7 Place has everything you need for a weekend getaway, family vacation, or adventure-filled holiday. We are just minutes from all of the Northern Hills attractions.
As you wind up my private drive you will cast your eyes on my 5-bedroom 5-bath true log home nestled among the pine and the aspen. All linens and paper goods are supplied - simply pack your toiletries and groceries and let me take care of the rest. the warm, dry basement is even stocked with cut firewood for the 2 wood burning fireplaces.
The MAIN LEVEL features an impressive great room spotlighting an inviting wood burning fireplace and a 30’ wall of windows overlooking the Black Hills National Forest. You will love cooking and laughing with your entire group in our kitchen. There’s room for everyone in our spacious, well-equipped kitchen - you won’t want for anything. The dining room will seat all 14 of you at once so you can enjoy your meals together. A window seat provides extra dining room seating, a place to enjoy a beverage while overlooking the forest , or reading a book. The tile floors are also heated. The master suite is its own getaway with a king sized Sleep Number bed, another wood fireplace, large walk-in double shower and soaking tub with a view. You also have direct access to the hot tub. There’s a laundry / mud room to store all of your "stuff" and keep it out of sight during your stay. A powder room is convenient for all guests. For those who don't do stairs, we have all amenities on one level. Relax in the seclusion of my log home, taking in the serene wilderness as you hear the wind whistle through the trees or laze before the wall of windows taking pleasure in a crackling wood fire.
The UPPER LEVEL has 2 more bedrooms with a shared bath. There is a lot of flexibility in sleeping arrangements in case Mom & Dad need to be near little ones - one room is a queen bed and the other has 2 XL twin beds that can convert to a king bed. The loft boasts so much space with a reading spot, a game table and a TV room with more games, movies and books. There’s an additional powder room for the loft area that works great if the full bath on that floor is occupied. Fun, fun, fun is the name of the game up here.
The pride and joy of the LOWER LEVEL is the log bunk room! With two built-in bunks holding 2 twin beds each and a double bed connected to them it is the most unique room of my home. What a great hideout for the kids (BIG OR SMALL) on your trip, or maybe a retreat for the single people in your group. Another bedroom with a queen sized bed shares a full bath with a double vanity. For movie enthusiasts, there is a big screen TV with home theater in the family room. Not your typical cold basement, the entire lower level has heated floors in the colder months.
The spacious deck, spanning the entire length of my home, is perfect for entertaining day or night. Soak in the hot tub while enjoying a cup of morning coffee while you watch the sun crest the mountaintop horizon or after of day of adventures. And ohhh, the STARS, you've never seen so many stars at night. Host your summer outdoor meals while overlooking the vast scenery in which our home is located. I’m sure you’ll catch a glimpse of some wildlife any time of year.

I can’t say enough wonderful things about this home! The location is perfect for skiing Terry Peak and close to enjoy time in Lead and Deadwood. It is in a wonderful neighborhood and the home itself is absolute perfection!
Excellent place for a family/friends vacation. Absolutely beautiful home with just enough lived in feel to be able to be comfortable with our 3 year old and 1 year old grandsons. We actually were married on property since we all loved it so much!!
Perfect place for a family reunion. Cabin has everything you need and grocery shopping is minutes away. Property manager is excellent to work with. Stayed at +10 locations in Black Hills over last 30 years and this is our favorite.
This is the second time we have visited Old No. 7 and we are already planning a third! This cabin as more than enough space for our two families getting together and is in such a quiet and pristine area. It has all the space and the amenities we need for a fantastic getaway. We have stayed in numerous VRBO's and other rentals over the years and this is hands down still our favorite! Jason is easy to work with and we look forward to a return visit.
We absolutely loved our vacation. The house was everything a family would want to enjoy on vacation. The house meet all our needs. The quiet scenery was so beautiful. The owner was very friendly and helpful with what adventures are a must to see and do. We will definitely here again.
The house is well designed to handle a large family gathering. With 5 bedrooms and 3 living areas there was plenty of room to spread out and come together. The property itself is secluded in the back of a large neighborhood. We saw wildlife every day. The house was clean, well stocked and the sleep number king size bed was dreamy
There is nothing to say about the entire experience except that it was terrific. We had the idea of a surprise 50th-anniversary trip for our parents, families, and kids. Everything we imagined for this trip came to fruition; a large part was this cabin. It was bigger, nicer, and had more amenities than any expectations we could've had. Wood-burning fireplaces, fully stocked wood, attached garage, laundry, huge kitchen, large bedrooms with great bedding and pillows, bordering US forest service public land. This is the place you have in your head when thinking of a cabin in your head! Communication by the host was great. The house was extremely clean.
Can’t say enough about this impressive log cabin home! Truly a special and spacious place. The host was excellent to work with, very responsive and personable. Our family group of 10 stayed the week of Christmas and upon arrival we were welcomed by a seasonally decorated great room complete with a lovely Christmas tree. This home was fully equipped with everything we needed. The grandkids loved the loft area and having space of their own! We all thoroughly enjoyed the hot tub, real-wood fireplaces, and the beautiful views of the forest, including many deer sightings. We would not hesitate to stay again!
Very nice and clean had some issues with tvs but got it figured out front rooms are a little warm but cools later at night all and all had a great time
