"PArking was fairly easy, no issues there. Area is a little sketchy. AC worked. Half of the lamps in the room did not have any lightbulbs, the mini fridge was set to freezing when I arrived, and the TV was basically unusable for the entire week long stay. Still, overall room was decent, and staff were available to help when I needed it."

Hickory House, in charming South Park near UD Campus and Miami Valley Hospital
10/10 Excellent
"I had a great stay at the Hickory House in Dayton's South Park neighborhood. This is a perfect rental for a couple, though I was solo this trip. It's an older home but fantastically restored inside with brand new kitchen and bathroom, so has elements of vintage charm with modern conveniences. Access was simple with keycode lock. No on-site parking but street parking right in front of house was pretty easy. Excellent location for those visiting their kids at Univ of Dayton. Walking distance to several fun spots.... for coffee try "Wholly Grounds" or "Gaslight Coffee". If you like beer, please visit "Branch and Bone" - it is great. South Park is one of those areas of Dayton that has been getting more popular over the last decade or so - there's still rehabbing going on in the neighborhood but I felt safe while I was there. I would absolutely stay here again."
"Everything was perfect. Room was clean, pool was fun and workout facilities were great. We used the on-site dining for dinner and breakfast and both were great!"
"It's an old Victorian mansion converted to a hotel, felt a bit like a B&B. Beautiful old building with a nice parlor that we enjoyed, way more interesting than the usual boring motel/hotel. They have a wine bar downstairs in the afternoons which is fun. Location is great with excellent restaurants, pubs, and bakeries nearby. It's a bit loud outside on weekend nights but we turned on the AC fan and slept great. Our room's carpet was kind of old, maybe it's time to replace it... otherwise everything was clean and the huge elegant bathroom was amazing. Next time I'm in Dayton we'll stay there again!"
