About this property
Kestrel Cottage pet friendly barn conversion, quiet farm location, nr Dartmouth
Kestrel and Tawny Cottagesj are converted barns on our farm, Woodbury Farm Cottages. We are two miles from the historic town of Dartmouth. This is a rustic farm location and many of the old buildings remain. You get the feeling of being away from it all in a quiet rural setting, but still very close to Dartmouth. Kestrel cottage sleeps six with two kingsize beds, one en-suite and a twin room sharing the family bathroom. Upstairs is the open plan-living, dining, kitchen area with vaulted ceiling, giving a light and airy space great for relaxing in. The space - We have two cottages, both sleeping 6, Tawny and Kestrel, ideal for two families or friends holidaying together. The cottages are part of a converted barn and retain the original features and roof trusses with vaulted ceilings. The windows have all been placed in the original openings, so each cottage is unique. Much of our furniture has been up-cycled and hand painted. The 3 bedrooms are on the ground floor with an open-plan living, kitchen, dining area on the first floor. The wood burner is perfect for warm cosy relaxing evenings. Quality white bed linen, towels, pillows and duvets are provided. The kitchen is well equipped with cooking utensils, cutlery, plates, glasses, kettle, toaster, fridge with small freezer, microwave and dishwasher. Anything else you need just ask and we’ll try our best to assist. The farm is our home too and we want you to feel welcome and have a great holiday. Guest access There’s plenty of parking in the yard and a seating area outside the cottage. Why not wander in our orchard paddock, the grass has been left long to attract wildlife, sit quietly and see what appears. You’re welcome to pick apples. If you’d like to meet our horses in the stables or feed our chickens some corn, just ask. Other things to note The barn is part of a courtyard of buildings along with our grade 2 listed farmhouse. They were once used as cow sheds on the former dairy farm. We have plans to convert an adjoining barn, which was once stables into another cottage. There are other farm sheds used for storage of machinery and hay. This is a rustic setting with free range chickens and our horses. The track leading down is bumpy so please drive slowly and beware of free range chickens in the yard. Well behaved dogs are welcome, we do ask you keep them on a lead on the farm. Please keep them off the furniture and beds and don’t leave them unaccompanied in the cottage. Please remember book your dog in too, they cost £50 to stay. Would you like to bring your horse on holiday? There are stables and a paddock available, send an enquiry and we’ll let you know the charges.

Fabulous cottage in a great location, the hosts go above and beyond to make you feel welcome, they have thought of everything to make your stay memorable.
We had a great time at the farm, the chickens were a hit with kids, and the whole family loved the sports area set up across the yard. Dale and Chris go beyond the call of duty to make you feel at home, lovely couple. No hesitation in recommending this for aspiring guests.
Our family of 5 stayed in Kestrel cottage, a lovely, clean and spacious barn conversion equipped with all you need. The farm is close to beautiful Dartmouth with all facilities and there is more than enough to do in the wider area, also when the weather isn't great. Kids had a great time with the animals and indoor playbarn. And to top it off, hosts Dale and Christine were so kind and helpful. We had a fantastic holiday, would definitely recommend to all
Chris and Dale where great. Messages were replied to within hours.
On arrival there were basic supplies which was helpful as well as sweets for the kuds and a bread pudding.
The beds were really comfy and everything felt and looked clean.and fresh.
My daughter lives horses and was taken by Chris to meet and hreet them.
Dale was always around for a friendly chat, replenish the ligs for the fire or help with any questions.
Whilst the lane is a little tight and steep its managable in both vehicles and for walking.
Over all we had an amazing 4 days staying at Kestrel Barn - thank you to Chris and Dale for there hospitality
Amazing cottage, amazing location and amazing hosts
A lovely modernised barn in a beautiful setting near to Dartmouth town centre.
And big thanks the Christine and Dale for being such excellent and helpful hosts
We had the pleasure to stay at Kestral cottage, perfectly located just outside Dartmouth. The accommodation was well-equipped and ideal for us (6 guests) The hospitality and sincere welcome we got from our hosts Dale and Christine was outstanding. Would fully recommend and hopefully visit again soon.
Very clean, Dale and Chris were very nice and obliging. Kitchen well equipped but would be helpful to have a larger frying pan. Beds are comfortable with fresh and clean linen. Very comfortable soft furnishings. All in all a very lovely stay and the welcome pack was a great bonus. Lovely scones!!!! Thank you
