We have stayed here many times before so picking a hotel for our stay was easy.
The room was spacious and clean which i love and it's so close to the shops and zoo.
Will definitely be staying again

Wow, Tallarook must be the most under-rated motel I have ever stayed at.
Saying that, our needs were very basic but were met easily and with fantastic friendly service. The location was perfect for us, and so beautiful next to the rushing Macquarie river. So many ways to walk from the front door and minutes to all sorts of shops.
If we had time, we'd have walked to the zoo for the day

Hadn’t been to Dubbo for many many years. Forgot how huge the town is. Initially worried we were too far from town. But upon check in we were thrilled with our choice. Beautifully presented and so well considered for travellers - microwave toaster kettle and accessories to enjoy an easy meal room if desired. Bathroom lovely products. Very comfortable. Plenty free offstreet parking. Main shops a klm away. Pastoral Hotel a beaut pub for those wanting a relaxing drink and or meal.

The animal view tents are fantastic!
Absolutely blew us away.
I do wish we had a little longer to enjoy the view though, as once we checked in then did the walking tour and off to dinner we got back to the room and it was dark. If you have the option I would miss the walking tour on the day of arrival and do it the following morning after breakfast

The best time to visit Darralume is during the spring (September to November) and autumn (March to May) months, when the weather is most pleasant for outdoor activities and exploring the region.
During spring, the temperatures are comfortably warm, typically ranging from 18°C to 25°C. This is an ideal time for couples and solo travellers looking to enjoy the area's natural beauty, as the wildflowers are in bloom, and the national parks are particularly inviting for hiking and wildlife spotting. The Darralume River is also at a good level for kayaking and paddleboarding.
Autumn offers similarly mild weather, with average temperatures between 15°C and 22°C. The landscape takes on beautiful golden and russet hues, making it a great time for photography enthusiasts and those who appreciate scenic drives through the countryside. Many local wineries also hold harvest festivals during this period, offering tastings and events that appeal to those interested in the region's produce.
While summer (December to February) can be hot, with temperatures often exceeding 30°C, it's a popular time for families due to the school holidays. The coastal areas around Darralume offer refreshing sea breezes, and activities like swimming and surfing are popular.
