"En arrivant sur place nous découvrons le Chateau de Ré, la propriétaire était là pour nous accueillir, un accueil chaleureux nous avons pu connaître l'historique du Château et elle répondait avec plaisir à toutes nos questions. Chambre salle de bains sanitaires le tout très propre et bien agencé et décoré. "This is a simple, roadside lodge style hotel. The staff were all exceptionally helpful and spoke some English that supplemented our very basic French. Everywhere was spotlessly clean. Breakfast (pay extra) was simple but adequate and included a toaster with bread, condiments, scrambled eggs and bacon as well as the usual pastries and yogurts. There is no restaurant at the hotel but there are a number of places to eat within walking distance but don't expect any fine dining. We ate at the Asian 'all you can eat' buffet which was excellent and just 500m away. It was easy to find, just off the main motorway and accepted our dogs for a very small supplement. We will use this hotel again if we are passing. "

"Host was welcoming and accommodating to us. Facilities were great, and property was perfect size for our large group so we could all have nice rooms and large communal space for dining together etc. Lots of plates and cooking equipment etc. "

"Very nice stay, just what was needed after living out of suitcases for a week touring northern France. Taller guests need to be a bit careful to cope with the stairs and low beams upstairs to avoid bumping their heads."

"Disappointing service and meal options as it was a Tuesday! The limited wine menu, never has any stock and you are always offered an alternative. We had to ask for the wine menu and our dinner got cold whilst waiting for our wine, as it wasn't in stock but noone bothered to tell us until we chased them. There were only 7 tables, but our dirty plates were left in front of us for ages and the 'Fawlty Towers waiter', had no structure to his service. Also rather than dinner served in the lovely dining room, it was served in the breakfast room on sticky plastic mats. This is our third time here, and things have not got better, it feels like the love and care have gone and jobs that were outstanding 4 years ago are still outstanding. The food was nice, but we wanted the gastronimique menu and was not advised that this was unavailable at booking, so had no choice but have the lesser menu. Previously it was available on a Tuesday, as this is the day we travel home.After eating breakfast a previous year, we did not bother this time as other hotels give you much better options with hot food, and better quality items for the same price. The shower leaked and the sealant is mouldy. We could not have the windows open during the night due to noise from the frogs!! But the duvet was a tog you would use in winter, and there was no fan, so it was not a comfortable nights sleep, being summer. We will not visit again due to the Tuesday menu choice, as this outweighed the negatives previously"
