Duck Haven - Wildlife Sanctuary - 5 miles to I75

Welcome to Duck Haven

We are a small family run 501c-3 wildlife sanctuary. During your stay you will be able to see many unique and critically endangered animals, like a Patagonia Mara, a New Guinea Singing Dog, Lemurs, Wolfdogs, African Wildcats, critically endangered sheep, pheasants, peacocks, different wild breeds of ducks, the smallest and largest breeds of bunnies, horses, mouflon sheep, and much more.

Our farm is located in one of the few hilly areas of Florida, with the Trilby Trails just minutes away. Duck Haven is a private pet friendly studio apartment whose closest neighbors are a well behaved flock of crittically endangered sheep. It features a queen size bed, and a queen size sleeper sofa that can accommodate up to 4 guests. We have provided all the things that you might need to make your stay enjoyable and relaxing. We have a convection oven, microwave over, hot plate, coffee maker, and a full size refrigerator inside the apartment for all your cooking needs. *Please note that we do not have a kitchen sink. Dishes will need to be washed in the bathroom.*

Come and enjoy sitting outside by the fire pit, enjoy the wonderful display of stars, or enjoy relaxing as you watch the nearby sheep and horses as they steadily munch the grass in the pastures.

Great weekend getaway

Duck Haven and all the units at the sanctuary looked clean and nice. We very much enjoyed our stay and Dona is extremely friendly. We will definitely stay again anytime we are in the area.

Duck Haven Farm Stay

My Fiancé and stayed here for a night while we were in the area and loved it. Dona was a great host and showed us all of her animals. We were very impressed and loved the experience. Would love to come back if we ever get the chance!

Just what we needed

Stayed overnight New Year's Eve so we wouldn't have to drive back to Tampa after the Lantern Festival. Dona was so nice and a tour of the sanctuary was included. Pixie the deer is so sweet!

Cozy and Fun

Duck Haven was the perfect getaway for my boyfriend and I. We were able to explore during the day and have a nice and cozy apartment to come back to at night. I loved being able to look out our window and see the sheep, and looking at the horses as we pulled up the driveway. Dona was a very accommodating host, and her tour of the sanctuary on the property was so interesting and fun!

Peaceful Getaway for Animal Lovers

If you love animals - domestic, farm, and exotic - you're going to love this VRBO. Dona is a 5-star host, and the accommodations were perfect. My wife and I loved waking up on the farm and seeing all of the adorable furry friends, then exploring nearby Dade City and the surrounding area. We were able to enjoy a private tour of the sanctuary, which blew our minds! We will absolutely return for a future visit. Thank you for everything, Dona!!

Making Memories

My best friend & I brought our nine year old grandsons here. As stated above, everything was fantastic, from meeting Dona' s Mom, "Mrs. A", upon our arrival to the wonderful animal tour given by Dona, complete with the boys being able to feed some of the animals, to the perfect evening with a fire, and star viewing. Dona & her Mom went above and beyond to make sure we had a wonderful time. We made great memories here and look forward to our next time we can come again!

Unique Experience

Dona was an incredible host. She is on property and accessible. She responds quickly. The studio apartment was perfect for the two of us and our fur baby. You have the feeling of being secluded but yet have plenty to do within driving distance. We loved the peaceful feel of being on the farm. We booked two more stays.
