"When I checked in was told my room wasn't ready yet. The staff was very helpful by asking if i would like to wait or they could offer me another room. Took the other room, and was very pleased with it. Give it a five star 🌟. "
"It smells like smoke supposed to be non smoking but there has been a lot of smoking in this room. And the hotel tried to mask the smoke smell with very strong air freshener which is making it so much worse.
My eyes hurt from the smell and I have such a headache "
"My experience at this hotel was very disappointing. The employee who checked me in had no customer service skills. He simply handed me my key and gave no information about where my room was located, checkout time, or where and when breakfast was served.
The room itself was very outdated. The carpet looked extremely old, the TV was very small and difficult to turn on with no instructions, and the phone in the room didn’t work. The biggest issue was the shower, which did not work at all. Because the phone was broken, I had to walk down to the front desk to report it. Despite the parking lot being nearly empty, I was told I could not switch rooms. Instead, I was given a key to another room just to take a shower and then return to my room.
There was also a visible opening near the AC unit where you could see straight into the parking lot. On the side of the building where my room was located, most of the parking lot lights were not working, so I parked under the only light so I could see my car.
An alarm in an empty room on my floor went off all night and was never turned off.
In the morning there was no one at the front desk and no instructions for checkout or a key drop box, so I had to leave my key on the counter. About 45 minutes later, while already driving back to South Carolina, I received a text and email asking me to check out.
The only positive part of the stay was the night shift employee who allowed me to use another room to take a shower in another room. "
"What a lovely place! The setting is so unusual and inspiring, right between the seemingly endless marshes on one side and Delaware Bay on the other. The house itself as neat as a pin, with everything fresh and well-organized. Perfect as a a base for exploring local history and local nature or just for slowing down from the busy world. Redwing blackbirds call from the reeds, gulls arc above the bay, and we did see one bald eagle a bit inland on the Fortescue road. Along the Bay, there's a long, long clean stretch of sand for walking and ruminating. "
