"The hotel is beautiful, quiet, great for solo travelers, very safe. The location is wonderful, right in the heart of town, staff were always available and very kind, I had a fabulous experience!! Air conditioning & TV worked well whenever needed!"

"The staff was cordial and attentive to all our needs. Check in was quick as well as check out. The bars are comfortable and the bartenders personable and masters at making drinks with Mezcal. The restaurant is very good with an extensive menu. The spa was also a highlight while we were there resting."

"I booked this hotel last minute since the hotel I booked had an age minimum that I wasn't aware of. This hotel turned out to be the best experience. From location to staff and the included breakfast. Breakfast everuday was a highlight and the lobby/eating area is a greay place ro retreat and stay cool without sitting under the AC. The location is close to downtown. Walking distance to everywhere i needed to be. They even have some kids play toys and little play house. I love that they didn't have a kids menu on the breakfast items but its very kid friendly adjustments. The AC in our room worked well. All of the staff was kind and friendly and the room and property was proudly clean. I would definitely stay here again."

"My second stay at Posada Don Matías and overall it was a great experience again. There was an issue with the A/C in our room, but the staff handled it quickly and moved us to another room right away. Everyone was very attentive and helpful. The price is very good, and the hotel is close to everything. I would definitely stay here again.”"

"We stayed here seven days in late April. The location is ideal. Close to the Zocalo, café shops, retail shops, restaurants, 20 de Diciembre market, museums and many other places. They are all within walking distance. During the weekend it could get noisy as there is a bar/club nearby. Other than that it was a pleasant stay. The beds are comfy and the air conditioner worked perfectly. Especially since the weather was in the 90's the entire week we were there. For those who have physical limitations please be aware there is no elevator for rooms in the 2nd and 3rd level. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We booked a double bed room, we were upgraded to a junior suite. That was nice of them. The room was larger but I have a feeling this was one of the rooms that was not upgraded yet. There was construction above us, not huge deal since we spent most of our time out of the room. But I'm sure if we were there more time it would have been a problem. I would recommend this hotel if you like being close to main area of the city and don't need a car."
