Frequently asked questions

What should a history buff expect from a stay in Cuba?
A visit to the significant historical sites in Cuba is probably first on your sightseeing list. And take some time to explore the many sights while you're in the area.
How many historically relevant hotels will I find in Cuba?

What are the must-see historical places and other sights to visit in Cuba?
Places to visit in the wider area include Beja Castle, Praca da Republica and Convento de Nossa Senhora da Conceicao. You'll also find Núcleo Museológico da Rua do Sembrano and Cinco Reis River Beach in the area.
What is a historic hotel like in Cuba?
When you choose a historic hotel, you'll enjoy a holiday in a building that has an officially recognised national historic designation. A castle, stately home, palace or even a pub, lodge, old police station or skyscraper can be transformed into a historic hotel as long as it has special significance. Traditional architecture and period features are often found within the guestrooms or public spaces of these historic hotels in Cuba, giving a sense of history.
What is the difference between a historic hotel and a heritage hotel?
The two are similar. "Historic hotel" is more commonly used in the U.S., while "heritage hotel" is often used in Asia and Europe. Historic hotels tend to focus on the physical building and architecture. A heritage hotel draws meaning mainly from the place's cultural value and how it inspired the surrounding community.
Do historic hotels in Cuba have modern facilities?
Yes. Every effort is made to preserve treasured traditions and historic facades, but hotel interiors are fitted with modern conveniences and safety features. Guests should expect the popular amenities you'd get from a hotel such as Smart TVs, WiFi and updated bathroom facilities. In Cuba, booking a historic hotel doesn't mean you will stay in a place that's uncomfortable for guests or simply rundown.
