We enjoyed are stay. The location and the cabin. There were issues with the hot tub not working. We read all instructions before but it must have been messed up from previous stays. We were unable to get anyone out to fix it after contacting the rental company. That was disappointing because one of the biggest selling points for us was to be able to look over river while relaxing in hot tub.
Wow wow wow! What a beautiful private setting!! The cabin is rustic, yet beautiful and functional for a family. Only critiques would be: NEEDS A DEEP CLEANING BAD!!! More hand and bath towels too. Bring own lawn chairs for enjoying yard, waters edge and firepit. Plastic chairs (2) provided on deck, 1 is cracked and should be thrown away or someone will get hurt. Bring own firewood. No hose outside for washing off feet or pups. 4+ foot drop off down to river. Bring water shoes if you plan on wading in, current can be strong.
Cute cabin, plenty of beds/rooms for more than just two people. We would stay here again with a family but would be sure to bring essentials and a pizza pan haha.
I would recommend this place. Its quiet and serene. The only complaint I have is the refrigerator needs to be replaced and the beds are a little lumpy. Overall it was a beautiful place, my kids had fun and its a beautif view.

Short Retreat
We had a very relaxing short gettaway. Loved being away and enjoying the natural beauty. Thank you for sharing your home with us.
We enjoyed our stay....be sure to take everything that you need (food, etc.) because a trip to the grocery store is 30 minutes away. If you are looking for a remote location with a few nearby neighbors right on the river--this is for you.
The location was wonderful. I enjoyed hearing and watching all the geese each morning. We enjoyed the fire pit by the water making s'mores. The cabin was nice as well. The wrap around deck with the hot tub was very nice and relaxing. We had no problem sleeping and relaxing on all the furniture. The cabin could use a good deep clean when it comes to dust, and a little more attention to cleaning under furniture. We really enjoyed our stay and thanks for the beautiful cabin in such a great location.
Every day was pleasant and restful at this location. I only gave a 4 rating because of the furniture. The chairs and sofas were not very comfortable. We actually used our lawn chairs to sit on during this trip. Everything else was quite nice.
Had a good time. You need to bring extra towels and eating utensils. Limited supply of forks, spoons etc. Still a beautiful place and 4 Seasons Rental group responded quickly to our concerns and questions.
Need to make sure Window AC unit is working before next rental.
After reading many reviews regarding the fact that the house needed a deep cleaning, I contact the management company and specifically requested that they make sure the house is clean. Their response was “it’s a log cabin at the end of a dirt road…”. It was disgusting and beyond dirty. Showers have hair and bugs, furniture dusty and dirty, bbq so dirty not usable, spider webs everywhere and I could go on. DO NOT RENT THIS HOUSE!!!
If you want to get away to enjoy nature, this is the perfect place for you! Excellent location right on the river away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. We really enjoyed the hot tub too! Accommodations were nice, however, the couches weren’t very comfortable for movie watching. The kitchen is well stocked, however, the kitchen “table” only seats 3 people. Bed linens and towels are a bit dated. Only 1 bath towel is provided per person. You need to bring beach towels or additional bath towels if you plan to use the hot tub. There is a washer/dryer combo in the house, but again, it is dated. It took about 2 hours to dry a load of laundry. Paper products were supplied for a few days but you’ll need to bring your own and a kitchen sponge if staying longer. Loved the fire pit for making s’mores as well as the star gazing. All in all an enjoyable spring break get away!
This cabin is a great location on the new river. Very quiet and peaceful. Bringing everything you need is a must as the grocery store is 30 minutes away. This cabin has such great potential but seriously needs a deep clean. We also brought our own towels as I read a review stating that they were poor quality. My suggestion would be to really clean the place up and provide some nice linens and towels and we wouldn’t hesitate to come back and stay!
We absolutely loved staying here, it was so beautiful and peaceful! Only side note, the hot tub had way too much chlorine. It was burning our eyes, and no we weren’t putting our eyes in the water. :). Anyway, it was still perfect! Thank you so much!
This cabin has a very nice ambiance. We stayed for our family Thanksgiving. Our dogs were with us and that was a big reason for choosing this cabin. It is close to (30 min to an hour drive) many outdoor activities. The cabin was roomy and had a very nice layout. We loved the fire ring right next to the river. The views are gorgeous.
The cabin was clean, but dated. The log furniture is uncomfortable. Mattresses sag towards the center of the bedsThe decor
( paper floral swags and wreaths) are very dusty, although luckily; there were not a lot of them. The linens were clean but faded and worn feeling. The kitchen items were mismatched and worn out also. There is scotch tape keeping the counter edge in place.
For the nightly cost of this cabin I feel these isues should not be present.
We did enjoy our stay, and the area. The property management were promt at replying to my inquiries. I feel that until there are updates to this cabin I would choose it again.
We had booked this well in advance. All was as advertised. We interrupted our trip due to the death of our mother / mother-in-law. Returned at the end of the week and it really was a good place to unpack and unwind emotion.
Was just private enough to feel secluded without the feeling of being isolated. We enjoyed the fire pit, the grill, the river, and many many times in the hot tub!
This cabin offered everything we were looking for. Super relaxing, great river view where our boys played in and fished in.
We loved chilling in the hot tub and finish the day around the campfire down by the river!

Fantastic place
Location and house are outstanding. We enjoyed every minute of each day we were there. Paddling, fishing, walking, hot tub were all very nice. The fast internet via fiber optic allowed for VOIP to replace the almost non-existent phone service. Kitchen was well equipped and the bedrooms were adequate. We intend to return in the near future.
This is a clean and charming log cabin. We spent days hiking at Grayson Highlands State Park and evenings in the hot tub under the stars. The property has one close neighbor - a cabin very similar to this one (beautiful), the other direction there is good space and brush before the next dwelling, the road side of the cabin is a hill covered in forrest, and only one house is clearly visible across the river - so this feels far more private than commercial. The day it rained we watched movies - the wifi is as good as we have at home - and we went shopping in West-Jefferson - they are catering to vacationers in all the best ways. We also had a great time at Burnt Hill Stables horseback riding. Had it been a different time of year we would have been in the river. When we stayed, there was a few feet drop to the river, which helped keep our dog out (he was always on leash but LOVES water and would have tried endlessly to wade). I read in another review that the beds were difficult - our beds were great - only the futon was a little like camping but we didn't mind. We were left enough paper goods, soap, coffee filters, trash bags, salt to get going after a very long drive - which was splendid! The grill was fun - the perfect size for a whole family dinner. I wish there had been a vegetable steamer in the kitchen, and the mini-blinds were not of the quality of everything else - but seriously - that's the worst that can be said. The cleaning staff does a terrific job, the place is well-maintained - which never happens by accident, it is a cozy and fun space for gathering with family or close friends but gives options for having time to yourself as well, and that hot tub by the river & pine trees & under the moon and stars -or by sunset? Yes! We were absolutely delighted and impressed. Thank you for the great get-away!
