"When we signed up for this location, we did not figure out we would just be in the basement. That said, the apartment they made for us worked out great for us.When we arrived at 10PM and found out we needed to get carry our heavy bags down steep stairs. I called host Gary and he popped out of the house and carried them down for us! He even set his alarm on our leaving day at 5:15 am to help carry them back up to the car for us. That made this location totally accessible for us.We were in Alaska for 10 days. This location was our last two nights. I got the best sleep of the trip here.The road to get up the hill to this house is a dirt road but even in the rain, we did not have any issues getting up there. The view was awesome.Thanks Gary for all your help. Kathy"

"This home is in a beautiful location and is spacious. The host was super friendly, communicative, and helpful. The view is a bit obscured (trees do grow, after all) but still lovely. However, the place was pretty dirty. You are living in their space. There was food remnants in the sinks, on the counters, dirt and hair on the floors both upstairs and down. Perhaps this was a one-off. Also, it was also a bit hard to find things because very little was organized in all the drawers. I highly encourage the host to be sure it's clean for her next guests. Also, was in a bit of a rush when booking due to a VRBO cancellation and didn't realize this was a shared space (which I never would have booked), but both the host and her hubby generally made themselves quite scarce, which was appreciated (I find it just not easy to relax completely when you don't have the entire place to yourself.)We enjoyed the kitty :)Thank you for sharing your home!"

"The unit is well located. It’s away from center of town and yet convenient to it so it’s more peaceful and quiet. The unit is well equipped so it would be easy to cook a good meal here if you wanted to. We didn’t as we found good eats in town. Host is super responsive and helpful."
