Overall, loved the place. Deepest thanks and appreciation to the owners & whomever did an excellent job w cleaning. Every autumn we visit, I want to move back to CO. Thank you I found it stressful to be asked if someone could come into the house to check the fireplace. I was uncomfortable being put in the position to have to say 'no.' It may not seem like a big deal from management POV, but from my POV - we paid a lot of money for a private place to stay. We are dealing w workers in our real home constantly, I didn't want to be bothered with someone coming into the home while we were paying to stay there. The fireplace should have been checked in advance of our arrival if there was an issue. (we didn't use it so I don't know) I didn't like being put in the position of having to ask for someone to take care of business after we checked-out.
On the first day of our stay, my dog started barking upstairs as soon as I got in the shower downstairs. My husband was out riding his bike so I had to get out of the shower in a towel to calm her down. In hindsite after the text asking if someone could come to the house, I wondered if someone had come to the front door when I was in the shower causing our dog to get upset??? I highly recommend not putting paying guests in the position to accommodate maintenance that should be handled in advance. We are paying mngmt to accommodate us, not vice versa.
