Three Peaks Lookout | Mt. Crested Butte
Ski, ride, or simply exhale, your mountain basecamp above it all
Perched high on Hunter Hill Road, this bright three-bedroom, two-bath condo is your perfect home base for mountain adventures in every season. In winter, grab your skis and walk just a few minutes to the lifts, or when snow is deep, clip in and glide down from nearby access points. In summer, roll straight onto world-class single-track trails that wind through wildflowers and alpine meadows. The free town shuttle stops right on Hunter Hill Road, an easy two- to three-minute walk from the building, making it simple to head into downtown Crested Butte for dinner, drinks, or a lazy afternoon stroll without worrying about parking.
Inside, the living room welcomes you with warm wood accents, a stone fireplace, and mountain light streaming through wide windows that frame Gothic, Axtel and Red Lady Mountains. It’s the kind of space that feels instantly comfortable: drop your boots, settle into the sofa, and let the day slow down. Whether you’ve been chasing powder, hammering trails, or simply taking it easy, there’s nothing better than unwinding here by the fire as dinner simmers in the kitchen and the sun fades behind the peaks.
The kitchen is open and inviting, stocked with everything you need to cook, gather, and linger. Mornings start with coffee and pancakes before first chair; evenings end with wine and laughter around the dining table. And if cooking isn’t your thing that night, just hop on the shuttle and explore the incredible local restaurants and cozy taverns in town.
Upon booking, guests receive access to a detailed digital guidebook filled with insider tips on our favorite trails, eateries, and local experiences, so you can plan as much (or as little) as you want.
Each of the three bedrooms offers its own mountain-retreat feel, with soft bedding, thoughtful touches, and enough privacy for couples, friends, or families. Two full bathrooms make sharing easy, and the entire home sits on a single level once you’re inside. Please note that you’ll need to climb an exterior set of stairs to reach the condo’s entrance, which is located on the second floor, worth it for the elevated views and quiet setting above the tree line. Laundry facilities are located in the A Building and available for guest use.
The entryway doubles as a functional mudroom with space for boots, skis, and gear. It’s a small detail that makes a big difference after days spent on the mountain. Whether your goal is to ski hard, ride far, or not move at all, this place makes it easy. You can adventure out your front door, or not at all and still feel part of the magic of Crested Butte.
So come for the slopes or the trails, stay for the sunsets and the quiet. Light the fire, pour a glass of wine, cook something delicious, or do absolutely nothing at all. Three Peaks Lookout is mountain life, exactly the way you want it.\
Reaching the front door comes with a little touch of mountain adventure. From the parking area, you’ll follow an outdoor stairway to the ski-locker landing, then continue up to the private entrance, a short climb that rewards you with big views and a cozy welcome. Many guests choose to drop off luggage and passengers along the upper road first, making the walk down the stairs with bags much easier before parking in the designated spots below.
Ski access is wonderfully flexible. You can head up the nearby steps and enjoy a scenic, ~200-yard walk to a ski-in point that leads to the West Wall or Peachtree lifts. Or, for an easy alternative, simply hop on the free shuttle just down the parking lot, which takes you directly to the base area.
A non-refundable damage protection insurance policy ("Service/Management Fee") is included with every booking to cover accidental damage during your stay. This replaces the need for a traditional damage deposit or additional insurance.
