I don't normally bother to write a review but I want to give deserved praise to the staff at The Goudhurst Inn: unfailingly friendly and thoughtful. My room was lovely and the food was excellent - way above standard pub fare. Well done to everyone involved.

A few black spots on bed linen and lots of condensation on the windows. Surrounding area has no shops or shopping facilities nearby. Staff were friendly and attentive but service was a little slow. Wrong TV remote initially in room but staff resolved quickly. Main road directly outside bedroom window which was noisy and not good for light sleepers.

The inn is located in the charming Goudhurst Village. The property, food, and especially the staff were excellent. One of the employees there, Ray, who I believe is the manager went far beyond the call of duty to help me out with a difficult situation that I got into hiking in rainy conditions. The room was spacious and spotless.

Lovely, comfy, chilled stay. The very helpful lady who checked us in (sorry didn’t catch her name) and was at breakfast was friendly and very professional. I would highly recommend.. everything was perfect. Definitely would return.

Superb find, comfortable and well equipped room, good food and we were looked after very well by the staff with a special shout out to Leah and Erin who's attentive service and friendly 'can do' attitude was a breath of fresh air.

Check in closes at 8PM SUNDAY!
There is a big error in communication for this hotel. All confirmation and info on Hotels.com says that check in is open until 10:30/11pm. My colleague turned up at 10pm sunday night and could not gain access. He had to drive around to find accommodation for the night at this time! I called the hotel the next day to be told on a Sunday check in closes at 8pm! There was nothing in our communications to advise of this!

When I got settled in to my room I noticed the cleanliness of my room wasn't up to the standard I expected at all which is unfortunate as the customer service and first glance of the room was outstanding the breakfast was delicious also. Im slightly disappointed as should the room have been clean I wouldn't of hesitated to return. Firstly I noticed the bath had a chalky residue so I rinsed it thoroughly before using then noticed there was dirt left on the floor beside the sink, the toilet had remains from the last guest, dirt and hair on the shelves and window sill and dirt left by the toilet roll beside the toilet

Property was very pleasing. We had a very spacious room, good bed and I was especially pleased at the good-sized bathroom with an excellent bath! Possibly there might be a Mind Your Head sign between bedroom and bathroom.

Lovely Little Gem
The Goudhurst Inn is a beautiful little hotel. Ours was a classic and stylish suite with clean and fresh towels; and really comfy bedding. Though there was no a/c, there were 2 fans in the bedroom, so that helped with this crazy heat! Breakfast and dinner were excellent... we may have overeaten (lol). The staff were quite friendly and certainly very accommodating. WILL certainly recommend!

LEFT STRANDED! The actual property was lovely. However, we were told that our room key would also open the side door which led to outside so that we could let ourselves in at night, but it didn't. When we came home around 12:30 at night, we were locked out and had no way of getting in because all the staff leave the building in the evening. There was no emergency telephone number, no one we could call. We were stranded! This was the night of the storm and it was incredibly cold and extremely stressful because we had no where else to go. After about 30 minutes we noticed that one of the other guests who were staying had opened their window. We shouted until they came to the window and we explained how we were locked out and very kindly they came down and let us in. We told someone about this the next day and were told that we should have been given another key when we checked in. It is very bad that we were not given the correct keys but surely there should be an emergency telephone number for their guests to call if they have any problems during the night. I really do not know what we would have done if the other guests wouldn't have been there that night.

Peace perfect peace
Staff friendly, can’t do enough to help you. Room was lovely… a very comfortable bed and pillows. Food is amazing. I’m a very small eater, but for some one with a good appetite, you get more than enough. Especially at breakfast!! Good quality food, not mass produced. Just perfect to unwind & surroundings green and out of the way, but not to far away from local amenities. Overall.. a great little place to stay, with well mannered, helpful staff on hand with any query. Oh and the lady at breakfast, was only to happy to fill up a hot water bottle for me. Mornings are hard because I have two chronic forms of arthritis and a hot water bottle helps me with the pain. I shall definitely book up again and let everyone who wants to listen,know what a cracking place the Goudhhurst Inn is to stay at. 🌸💜

Countryside stay
Great location for those wishing to have a peaceful countryside stay. We visited for the vineyards, within a short 10min drive. Ideal for its intended purpose. Room was clean, comfortable and the restaurant served a great dinner. The service of the staff was attentive and pleasant. Only disappointed by the hamper breakfast. Appreciate in the current climate adaptations have been made to accommodate the pandemic. Perhaps a little more effort into the contents of the breakfast. Overall, good value for money!

Nice venue with friendly staff but breakfast during the week is continental only and left out the night before as venue is unstaffed overnight... also arrived at 10 past 8 on a Sunday evening to find the kitchen had already closed at 8. Nice place but wouldn't stay again

Cracking place!
This is really one of the nicest places I've stayed. The room was decorated to a high standard, Sky Sports/Movies etc in the room, high speed wifi, a very good choice of herbal teas, artisan coffee's etc too. The room I stayed in (Strackney Wood) had a very comfortable bed and one of the best baths I've seen..shower in it too. The food was exceptional, I had Roasted Guinea Fowl which was cooked to perfection, a great selection of craft beers and wines in the bar too. A help yourself continental breakfast is available too. All members of staff that I spoke with were very friendly too.

Two night business stay. Evening meal and beer was good, the self service buffet breakfast was slightly odd in that there were no members of staff present and the first morning was a bit of a guessing game, food was ok though. Special mention for the room which was great. The parking is worthy of a moan, the designated hotel spaces are right on a busy junction, luckily I reversed in as getting out forwards in the morning was tricky, backing out would have been dangerous. Used the main car park next day and found the exit visibility dreadful, to the right was an overgrown hedge and to the left was a stupid poster advertising the rugby world cup blocking any sort of view.
