"Our stay at the New Inn 1730 was only overnight, and we arrived around 6pm on a Sunday evening. This is a welcoming & friendly pub, with restaurant and accommodation. The owner did his best to accommodate our needs during our short stay, and is still finding his feet a little having only recently taken on the business.
Food options were limited when we arrived, particularly for our two fussy children, so we did eat elsewhere that night, but the cooked breakfast in the morning was very good,...

"The name of the property had been changed the day before we arrived so we walked past it a few times before realising. The staff we met were very helpful but we chose not to stay as the room was drab and depressing with rubbish piled on the corridor and sheets on the bed looking grimy and creased"

"Superb for an overnight stay on our way from Scotland to the south coast. Liked the large and recently refurbished room. The public areas were spacious and decorated well also. Friendly and helpful hotel staff. "

"Lovely hotel with attentive and friendly staff, a very comfortable room and excellent breakfast food (freshly cooked with a choice of hot options); evening meal also excellent, well worth the price. No road noise, plenty of parking. Be sure to say if you need a mobility friendly room. Nice cafes, pubs, shops in nearby Kirkby Stephen. "

"I had a wonderful overnight stay here. The room was lovely, ver quiet with beautiful views and a very comfortable bed. I did use the spa which was at extra cost but it was lovely and relaxing. I opted for the fine dining in the evening and it was outstanding. Breakfast was included and the menu had plenty of options from continental to freshly prepared hot options. The staff were very helpful and friendly- I will certainly rebut for a longer visit. "
