Palacio Solecio, a Small Luxury Hotel of the World

"All the staff are friendly, helpful and articulate—really excellent. The hotel is well located in the Old Town, and the building itself is impressive, particularly the central, full-height dining room with its beautiful lamps, discreet climate controls, exposed brickwork and marble features. The main disappointment for our stay was breakfast. The staff seemed overstretched, resulting in long delays with the coffee which on one occasion arrived at the very end of breakfast, and similarly with ordered cooked food. The room was good, although on the small side. It was quiet, and the beds were comfortable. The bathroom was finished in marble and very well appointed. Sadly, the bedroom window was so high that it was impossible to see out without standing on something, which was a shame because there was a lovely view over the church opposite and the Old Town. The swimming pool was not really a pool; it was more of a splash facility. Even diagonally, it took only six or seven strokes to swim the distance. This was disappointing, although there was a nearby beach where we could swim instead so it was not a problem. A good stay, appreciated the location and the staff. The breakfast was good but required patience and the room was adequate to good (quiet and comfortable) but not overwhelming."

"Hotel is an excellent base for torremolinos and surrounding area although immediate surroundings not particularly pleasing to the eye . Noise was low . Beds comfy . Brunch brilliant . Very chilled and relaxed hotel. Staff all very pleasant. Pool area slippy at times so be aware. Also note balcony’s are very close to each other . Safes available at low rate per day . 10 min in taxi from airport between 16-20 euro. Very convenient little supermarket next to hotel open until 3am if you need anything. Shops bars restaurants within easy walking flat distance 10 mins. Bus stop over the road 2-3 mins walk to nearby Benelmadina and also Fuengirola very cheap . Beach easy walk down steps, not so easy back up there is a lift . Taxi rank also 2-3 mins walk away and also very reasonably priced if you dont want to wait for the bus. Train station 10 min walk . Would I stay here again, absolutely yes. The hotel is very clean , good beds, showers, brunch and the location is great for exploring the area rather than the premium prices on the sea front . Good mix of people and great value for money ."

"we have just come back from having a perfect holiday with this hotel. there was excellent entertainment every night and great swimming pool and sun beds. the breakfast was good with lots of choice and I would recommend a stay there"
