I like that this property is located just outside the chaos of town. The staff are all very friendly and courteous. Air conditioning worked wonderfully in our room. The free breakfast was a nice touch, albeit quite basic. The wifi, which was only available in the lobby, was basically non-existent. The shower had very little hot water. The room had a little bit of a run down vibe, but it was very spacious.

Unique layout, kinda far from town, very friendly
Cool hotel, situated on the main road about 2-3 miles from downtown. For some, it might be a little far from the nightlife, port and restaurants. I could imagine the hotel being super gorgeous when it was new, but as of 2019, it is due for a round of updating. Great staff who are friendly and helpful. Decent American and Filipino breakfast came with our stay. Rooms are clean, but show signs of age (bathroom mainly). Overall, a decent experience.
It is large, well designed and quiet. Rooms are nice. Breakfast is ok. They didnt clean the room though. Pool is really small. The view is not really pretty but the staff is nice and it is 7 min with tricycle to town.
Decent start. Mosquitos in room, window left slightly open. Called to wake us up at 5am for a 5:30 pick up even though I didn’t ask them too. They woke the baby before we wanted to. They didn’t confirm the van pick up for the airport so while we were outside waiting at 5:30, they didn’t have the van there. At 5:50 we asked them as the guy behind the desk seemed clueless. The van finally arrived at 6:15. I asked them to pay for the airport transfer, the guy behind the deans said okay. Then when we got out then driver said they wouldn’t. I explained to them after the driver called them on the phone and they refused to cover it. A very very crappy experience.
Overall the hotel is want you get for the money, so you have to keep that in mind.
However everything seemed a struggle to get things done.
Room cleaning not done every day, when it is done they forget to put towels in the room and leave dirty cups and glasses from day before,
No hot water at all over 5 days!! It’s very refreshing !!
No bedside tables or power annoying,
The room safe isn’t attached to the wall!
The closet space is in a dark corner and can’t see anything,
Breakfast is minimal and random.
No cornflakes or butter one morning, when asked they say ‘not available’ - how difficult is it to have a box of cornflakes?
Poolside is scruffy, weeds growing - it really could look great with some improvements
The staff at this hotel was very accommodating and very nice. If you ever need anything, they are always at the front desk ready to help. The room, however, is not comfortable. The a/c need to be replace in room 20 as it does not cool the room as fast as room 10. The shower heads need replacement. This is my family's first time visiting Coron and we will NEVER visit again. The town is undeveloped compare to El Nido. Too expensive and overpriced to stay. And, not as nice and easy to get to like El Nido. The only way TO and FROM Coron is airplane which cost too high. A ferry to El Nido is 4 1/2 hrs long in a very choppy water. And Philippine Airlines is the WORST airline ever whose customer service and processes are not within standard causing customer inconvenience and scam by charging customers more than it need to. So, if anyone is going to Coron, don't bother. Go to El Nido instead and fly Air Asia.
This hotel is a joke. All the pics are not the reality. The hotel has become really old and need heavy investment. The pool is dirty with only one sunbed, which is broken. Shower doest not get hot, only to room temperature. However room is clean, ants are everywhere. Bathroom has alot of fungus. Pingpong, foosball are not functioning anymore. If you tell the staff, they act like they dont know about any of these problems. However, we spoke with other (unhappy) guest ans they said exactly the same. We didnt eat breakfast as the eggs were green and everything didnt look alright. The name of the hotel actual refers to the view: you can see 5% of a hill top far away, behind the power pylons in front of the hotel. So its not located on top of a hill. There was no wifi connection. They didnt mention one facility: the hotel has a own landfill. Maybe the lying staff was the most anoying of it all, they acted like they were the best and most luxurious hotel. We as backpackers dont mind to stay in non-luxurious places. But we paid relatively a lot of money for this room to treat ourselves and it was all a deception.
staff are helpful, far from town, tricycle fare is 25 pesos per way, aircon is not working good, water heater not working even they fixed it twice, one day the water came out brown from the shower and sink..not a place for elderly since theres a lot if stairs.
Not recommended for senior citizens, pwds, kids and those who have difficulty walking on steps. Breakfast needs a lot of improvement, super limited and pricey for its cost.. even small kids pay full breakfast even if they eat too little because of limited choices. To make it worst, very poor signal so dont expect a wifi or internet data anywhere in the premises. We went to many islands and they have way better signal and internet connection even in the middle of the sea.
I dont intend to be negative but thats what we experience here. Just be careful and be informed. If u can live with stressful steps the moment u get off the van, the poor serving of breakfast, dirty tiny plunge pool and no internet connection... then you can consider the hotel.
On the positive note, staff are nice.
No wifi in the room. Only in the lobby but still can't get connection. Staff are friendly, pleasing and accommodating. Breakfast is thumps up! Loved it.
My wife and I stayed here for a couple of nights. It's about 10 mins from town. The location is nice since it's away from the noise of the town and the view is decent. The breakfast was good, but dinner was average. The wifi only works in the lobby and is slower than dial up.
I stayed at coron hilltop for one night. I arrived in coron at 6:30am but check in time was not until 2pm. The staff was more than willing to let me check in early so I could shower and rest before exploring coron. The resort is away from the main part of town. You will have to wait for a motorcycle taxi to pass by. Expect to pay more on your way back to the hotel. Like most hotels restaurants the food is more expensive than you can get locally.

Short visit in Palawan
The hotel is about 10-15 mins from the "town proper". To get to restuarants, stores, activities a 'tricycle ride' or a van are the usual means of transportation. Coron hilltop resort could need a little renovation & maintainance. Some of their towels were too old & needs replacement. The staff are very friendly. Has complimentary breakfast each day of stay till check out (which can be ordered the night before). The resort can book activities for you & they will give you complimentary towels as most activities involve water (snorkeling, beach). They also offer round trip shuttle (airport & hotel) for about $ 6 per person (which is needed since the airport is about 20-25 mins away).
We have stayed 5 nights , was very relaxed time here, very quiet since it's a bit far from Coron town but very easy to catch a tricycle to go there , and very kindly hotel stuff, only one thing is the Internet , we barely could use it, but also kinder good point if you want to compeletely away from the world ;-)
We were greeted to a great welcome, processed through our booking quickly and efficiently, by a lovely group of young staff.

not bad for a short stay
Location is outside of the noise and craziness of Coron town, which is a big plus. A short cheap trike ride gets you into town. The resort itself has seen better days and could do with a good cleaning and some repairs.
The people at Hilltop were fantastic. Thank you for everything!

Coron Hilltop View Resort Experience
The service and staff of the Coron Hilltop View Resort was great. The swimming pool of the hotel was too small. Poor WiFi Signal you can use it only in the lobby area. Slow Speed Internet Connection. The AirConditioned was not fit for the size of the room. It takes for about 30mins for the cooling of the room. After you enter and putting the key card on the sensor. You need to wait 3 mins before the Electricity start.
