I spent 4 nights at the wonderfully located Scandic property, but unfortunately left underwhelmed.
Staff - Fantastic. Despite issues that kept popping up, every member of the staff was very friendly, helpful, and owned everything that came their way.
Great location, 1 stop from Central, 6 minute walk from train. Great food/drink options within minutes.
Room - Here are my biggest contentions.
1) No AC. The room absolutely does not breathe. A small crack of the window won't do anything. Leave it open all day and the neighbors from across the street have a look in. There is a thermostat, essentially for show, that allows "air in" according to the staff, but no AC. 2) The bed. Super comfy. It also adjusts, except it wasn't plugged in, and half of it didn't work. 3) Nowhere to store clothes. Being there for 4 nights, would be nice to put stuff in a closet, drawer, something? Just some hangars. 4) Cleaning. It was explained at check-in that they don't clean every day because of COVID. This should be in the description when booking. I find it weird that this hotel lets you know when you arrive. 5) No soap in bathroom. 6) Wifi Great, no ENG tv options.
Breakfast was plentiful and delicious. Staff there amazing.
Other stuff: Paying for early check-in despite room ready sucks, but very nice for free late checkout. How can you say you limit cleaning because of COVID, but staff, including cleaning staff doesn't wear masks, or use gloves? Trash left near elevator for days.
