It’s a quaint castle stay, even though we stayed in the annex - it’s no run-of-the-mill hotel. Even if you’re not into golf, the park and seaside are within short walking distance. Breakfast was delicious.

Work just outside our window at 07:00 in the morning. Very unpolite restaurant staff when we came home and asked if we could have something at the bar. Hotel is beautiful and the surroundings also

We enjoyed the little hotel great breakfast close to everything rooms are small and maybe should include some English channels on the tv but overall we enjoyed our stay plenty of cafes right outside our hotel

The hotel is on beautiful grounds, its an easy train ride from the airport with a scenic path to the water. It was so serene and quiet you could hear when people walk by outside on the gravel. We had stayed when their restaurant was closed, but we great food at the golf club nearby, and had one of the tastiest hotel breakfasts we've had on our trip. Staff was friendly to us and gave us great tips and suggestions.

Nothing in room

Nothing in the tiny room besides bed and bathroom; no mini-fridge (we put drinks next to a window to cool them), no microwave, no coffee pot or kettle/water boiler, not even a phone. Also, amenities also cost a lot to use, per hour, per day, etc.

Beautiful hotel, Bad service

Very beautiful hotel in beautiful surroundings, BUT bad service unfortunately. Already before booking I asked if the hotel could accommodate any vegan food in the restaurant. The plain reply was: NO! And they meant it! The breakfast buffet was very small and had (of course) NO vegan options, except for oatmilk. At the hotel restaurant, I asked again if they could put something simple together that was vegan. Same reply: NO! Then I had to put something together myself based on the options they had. I think the chef got angry at us, because we had to wait 2,5h to get an appetizer and 1 main dish. The waiter forgot the wine and water, too. Upon arrival, no one came to help my 75-year-old mother carry her heavy suitcase up the rather long and steep staircase. The staff was very friendly, but several of them did NOT speak Danish, even the receptionist.

Pretty and cold

Pretty place with freezing cold room. Told the staff. The first receptionist tried to help me - without any luck. Told them again when checking out and the answer was just "I will tell maintenance" - which didn´t do me much good.

The hotel restaurant was expensive and pretentious with limited menu. I ordered the duck which was fine apart from there was only 1/2 a duck breast. When I asked they said that it was a small duck. When I showed them that it was a normal size they said that the chef cuts off the ends to stop it burning, pathetic! There was no opportunity to complain as I was offered another main course but at a repeat of full price. Such a shame as the hotel is nice otherwise and had such a great potential, but sadly terrible customer service - Avoid

Positve things are the location and castle area as well as quietness. Otherwise, for rhe pri e and 4 star it had several issues: small room and lack of functionality in design of bathroom. No cofee ir tea availble in room. Extra payment for late checkout, extra payment on pool/spa by hour. In pool area time went by as they were lacking towels and the entry key lockers did not work. Spa area is ok with pool and sauna but basic. It was suposed to have warer availble but it was not refilled nor there were glasses. There was no possibility to eat in evening (closest restaurant would be 3 km away. Breakfast ok but extra payment on any other than filter coffee or on omelette or pancakes.

The limited staff were friendly and willing but there weren’t enough of them. The decor in our room was dark & gloomy, the bathroom was tiny and dark. The basin was too low and the faded brass taps etc made it look v old fashioned. I thought we were to stay in the main building but we were in a barrack like building adjacent to it surrounded by unfinished pathways that looked shabby. The driveway is v untidy with stables and horsey bits and pieces littered about. The main building has flaking paint and missing plasterwork. There are unfinished flower beds and weeds all over the driveway. Outside tables need cleaning and ashtrays need emptying. The location is excellent as Louisiana Gallery is just up the road, but I wish we’d stayed in the city. All in all we felt the whole place could be magnificent with a revamp. I’d be happy to help to cheer it all up. None of the above is the fault of the v nice staff but it was a depressing atmosphere and such a disappointment. Good luck in the future, I hope improvements can be made.
