"The motel staffmembers are kind and attentive. Despite what other reviews say, we didnt see one bug-and I always check-in our room. The doors were a little banged up, but it was a pet-friendly room, and im sure carriers have scraped the doors over time. Otherwise, the room was clean and comfortable. We slept great, and even felt comfortable enough to extend our stay there, since we were waiting for our utilities to be turned on at our new house. The staff was courteous and professional. My daughter enjoyed the well-maintained pool. Thank you!"

"This was the first time I stayed at the Menger . It was very comfortable and right in the heart of the Alamo Plaza. The Alamo was a short walk across the street, shopping and fine dining all within a few minutes walk. The valet parking is a little expensive for me, but very convenient. They have a nice restaurant and bar downstairs, room service for the early morning breakfast in bed, and the first floor is like a little time capsule of this historic hotel. I'll come back in a future visit and stay a little longer "
