The Neighborhood:
Our neighborhood Franklinton is situated just west of Downtown Columbus, and is full of historic homes. This neighborhood has experienced many phases through out it's existence, and is currently in a revitalization phase. There are lots of properties being renovated, and some that still remain boarded and empty. This area has experienced some crime in the past, but has improved in recent years.
Franklinton has experienced several great floods in the past, and has been somewhat neglected throughout the middle to late part of the 1900's. The Franklinton Floodwall, completed in 2004, is 7 miles long, cost $134 million. The wall's completion has released the area from being considered a floodplain, as well as releasing the previous building restrictions that often prevented development in the past. As a result, commercial and industrial activities are starting to grow in the Franklinton Area.
The City of Columbus is focusing on creating a new Short North style neighborhood in Franklinton through developing an urban creative district. This new neighborhood is now centered between Gift, Town, Lucas, and Rich Streets. Key developers have purchased existing buildings and are working to refurbish existing buildings to retain the character of Franklinton.
Getting Around:
Uber and Lyft are great ways to get around in Columbus, and our central location allows you to get to most parts of downtown in under 10 minutes, and most other parts of Columbus in under 20 minutes.
We also are close to a COTA public bus stop. Also available in Columbus are a bike share, and Byrd and Lime scooters!

Property was absolutely disgusting. Stains on the furniture, black scuffs and handprints on the walls, holes in the drywall, nasty dirty rag in the shower. Property was not meant to be rented and needs a lot of work before it should be allowed to be rented. Listing said 2 beds and futons on top floor, there were only 2 beds. Portable AC unit on top floor had the exhaust fan broke off blowing hot air into the room. Loft was at least 90 degrees. Upon contacting the property management company, they advised us they would not be able to fix the things and offered a discount on a future stay and late check out as compensation. What a joke, this place was not in any condition we were comfortable about staying in. After 30+ emails back and forth with the company they agreed to move us to another property. The new property, while better, was still a slum listing. Obvious water damage and roach infestation made this place no better. Not to mention the prescription meds left behind. Another slum listing with no cleaning done prior to arrival. Pictures were taken of both properties prior to staying to document the atrocity of their properties. This is the 2nd time we've booked through this particular property management company and each time the houses have been nasty.
As a final effort, they offered $95 back but with a disclaimer I was not allowed to leave reviews. Nice hush money attempt on their part.
I was extremely optimistic about this booking for me and my friends for NYE. Unfortunately, this place was less than impressive. First of all, the booking advertises “sleeps 16!” But has a max guest list of 12. Riddle me that lol. I had a group of 9 but only because I had to inform invited guests they needed to make other arrangements for sleeping due to the lack of true information provided by the owner.
Next, we received a noise complaint (and not during quiet hours might I add) with absolutely no sound argument as to why. We were not provided with any information on why we received a complaint, we were just provided with threats of hefty fines/visitation from the police if we didn’t “keep it down.” Overall, this place would have been cool, but the management of this property is just really unreasonable and dishonest. Don’t book here, save your money.
Me and my cousins loved having a place to escape to together. We enjoyed the big house with lots of hiding places, a big table to play games around, and a place where we could also have dogs. The hosts were very responsive and we only had a few small issues that didn't change the enjoyment of our stay at all. The house definitely needs some things fixed, but for a few nights stay, it met our needs! I'd definitely stay there again if needed.
First off- we weren’t given the door code until 2 hours after check in time. We were consistently asking for the door code prior to arrival however they were ignoring the request and instead asking for information about our stay (how many guests, picture of ID, ect) things that should have been asked BEFORE check in time as we booked weeks before. We were sitting on the porch just waiting for 2 hours for a door code. Finally we get the door code and the place is nothing like the pictures. Cabinet doors were missing from the kitchen and overall just not as nice as the pictures showed. The neighborhood is rough, as a girls weekend let’s just say I’m glad I brought a taser because I felt very unsafe. During the stay we couldn’t find towels and the host would not respond, finally found some in the dryer and one had stains all over it. The day before check out we were messaging with the host asking about trash bags or where to leave the trash and they still would not respond. It wasn’t until checkout day they finally responded about the towels which we had asked about on night one- or the trash. Over all would not stay here again and very poor customer service.
Spent a nice weekend out in Columbus for my girlfriends birthday. Was able to dine out super close to the property and go to several fun events. House was clean and in great condition. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the stay.
Great! The TV WiFi was an issue! Too slow! All else was great!!

Farmhouse in the city
Houses were very close together. House was very well updated. Kitchen and living area were beautiful. We had a problem with the TVs. No working remotes. We also had mice. And I would suggest putting hairdryers in the bathrooms. We basically were only there to sleep so it wasn’t too bad.

Overall, a very nice BNB
I thoroughly enjoyed the layout and persona touoches of this BNB. It was very spacious and settled in a quiet neighborhood.
The unit was very clean, however; we saw a few mice come out into the kitchen area from behind the dish washer. I did not sleep at all the entire night, so it did ruin the "sleep over" experience.
Other than that, the property manager was very friendly and responded to my questions promptly.
