Walk everywhere in German Village; 5 min ride to downtown, OSU, Nationwide Children’s Hospital; less than 10 min to Expo and Convention Ctr. Our best restaurants are blocks away!

German Village is a historic neighborhood just south of downtown Columbus, OH. Initially platted in 1814 in Columbus' South End, German Village was generally developed between years 1840 and 1914. It was settled largely by German immigrants in the mid-1800s. German descendants at one time comprised as much as one-third of the population of Columbus. Restoration began in 1959 and the Historic District was established in 1963. German Village was the FIRST historic district in the U.S. and it remains a model for all that came after. In the year 1974, German Village joined the Historic Register. Today, more than 1,600 preservations have been completed.

This is a historic property with its historic idiosyncrasies, especially its unique first-floor windows and high ceilings and exposed brick walls but also its steep, narrow staircase characteristic of the 1880s. This is the 2nd time staying at this property, just a lovely home. Love the access to different shops, restaurants in the area. The place was ready for us when we arrived, very clean. The hosts are incredible.

Stayed here the night before my wedding at a church nearby and it was the perfect location! This was a great home-base between the rehearsal, dinner, getting ready for the big day, and where we spent our wedding night. The upstairs was quite warm when we arrived (it was very hot weather all week) but adjusting the window unit to high and turning on the ceiling fan helped a lot. Pillows were a bit flat for my liking, but that’s just personal preference. The unit was well cared for and had everything we needed to make our stay. Check in was extremely easy.

Awesome stay

Jennifer and Vernon are awesome hosts. The new POSH German Haus is a great stay, very comfortable and plenty of room. It is walking distance to lots of great restaurants and a must visit book store. We would definitely stay here again.

Nice clean home in a historic district downtown Columbus. The neighborhood is beautiful and so many amenities very close by. Bed was decently comfortable and communication with property owner was good.

Very nice place! It was very convenient for our two dogs having the fenced in area. We would definitely return to stay here! This is a very nice area with pubs and restaurants close by and central to all of the attractions of the city

The property is newly renovated and very pretty. It had everything we could have asked for. Great location. Just a few blocks to the heart of town and a few more to Schmidt’s.

We spend time visiting in Columbus a few times a year. We enjoyed this property, it was clean and had nice little extra amenities. We would stay here again or at another property owned by this nice couple!
