German Village is a historic neighborhood just south of downtown Columbus, OH. Initially platted in 1814 in Columbus' South End, German Village was generally developed between years 1840 and 1914. It was settled largely by German immigrants in the mid-1800s. German descendants at one time comprised as much as one-third of the population of Columbus. Restoration began in 1959 and the Historic District was established in 1963. German Village was the FIRST historic district in the U.S. and it remains a model for all that came after. In the year 1974, German Village joined the Historic Register. Today, more than 1,600 preservations have been completed.

The place was exactly as listed! The host was great. I messaged before check-in if I could drop off my luggage, and they actually went ahead and told me that I could go ahead and check in, which was helpful since a lot of snow was coming in that day.
We really enjoyed the connivence of the location. It was easy to get around the area and in a great location! The house was well stocked to suit our needs. The hosts were very attentive to our questions and responded quickly to any questions.
We loved our short stay in German Village. The property was clean, well appointed, great location and all around a perfect stay! The owners were very communicative and answered all of our questions in a timely manner. We would definitely stay here again!
Very easy check in, extremely comfortable beds, perfect location for exploring German Village and Columbus. Would happy recommend this property, and already have! Thanks Jennifer.
We had a wonderful time in Columbus. The space was well stocked and very clean. It was obvious they put a lot of time into making it comfortable. Parking, with a permit arranged by hosts, was easy and we were able to walk everywhere in German Village. Thoroughly enjoyed the house and will definitely be back again for another stay.
Nice property, very clean, within the wonderful German Village neighborhoods. Walking distance to restaurants bars, etc. Back patio needs a little love and attention.
The property was perfect in all ways. We came to visit Franklin Park Conservatory and the art museum. Both were short drives and easy to get to. We love German Village, and easily walked to the Book Loft, Schiller Park, Helen Winnemore’s and great restaurants—Lindey’s and Arepazo. The home was clean, well stocked, and spacious for our needs. Love the towels! Easy to communicate with the owners. It really makes for a perfect Columbus stay!
We had a very comfortable stay in this homey wonderfully renovated townhouse. It is an awesome home itself ,in very good location. I enjoyed walking my dog around the neighborhood at night ,not afraid of some bad guys. With my next visit to my son,I will definitely request the owner to rent me the place. Thank again to the super hosts
We had a lovely time at this sweet, perfectly located historic house. I brought my grandmother with me, and thankfully she's very mobile, otherwise the steep stairs and slippery bathtub could've been an issue. The bedrooms and kitchen were great.
Overall we appreciated how clean it was and really have no complaints. Plus it was an excellent price, at least when we went in early spring. If you need a nice 2-bedroom house to spend time in Columbus, I would definitely recommend it.
This is a great location and the property is charming. However the cleaning staff didn't do especially good job before I arrived. There were no towels on the first floor and it looked like it hadn't been vacuumed. Overall the beds and baths were clean but I will slightly disappointed in missing linens.Ceiling light bulb in the living room was burnt out so it was difficult to get in to the door without a flashlight. Just needed a little more attention. I'm sure these are easy remedies for the owner and their housekeepers.
This a great place to stay if you are wanting to spend some time at The Book Loft. You can literally look out the front window and see it across the street and there is a fabulous coffee shop next to the bookstore. Stuart Little's door (photo-op) is just down the street and Katzingers Deli is a short walk in the other direction.
The house itself has comfortable seating for everyone after a day of walking, the beds were comfortable and everything was clean & functioning. The hosts were quick to respond to all communications and left plenty of helpful info inside the house.
Definitely check out Valters at the Maennerchor and try the Jagermeister Wings when you visit Schiller Park. But leave your vehicle parked at the house and plan to walk because parking around town is a bit tricky!
Wonderful stay in German Village. The accommodations were exactly as stated. Extremely helpful with parking in front of the location. Would stay again.
