"The room was clean ish. The fridge made a loud and very constant clicking noise that was hard to sleep to. Other guests were extremely loud, the door lock did not work properly and only one key ended up working. The phone in the room was not working and the staff were not kind when we called for help trying to get back into our room. The elevator and hallways were dirty and the breakfast was sub par"

"PROS: Fair price, clean rooms, plenty of parking, conveniently located CONS: Worn carpet, limited breakfast (mkakke your own waffles, but no prepared eggs and bacon), rough parking lot, front desk staff was hit or miss (One was very attentive and friendly, one was all business and no hospitality, one was in the other room with ear buds in. There is a busy train track that runs directly behind the hotel. Be sure to request a room on the front side. BOTTOM LINE: I travel frequently and often to the same cities. When I find a great hotel at a great price with great service I actually record that hotel for future stays. This one didn't make the cut. I would stay here again, but would still shop for another hotel."

"I was greeted by the most discriminating, inhospitable, female receptionist at this hotel. I had already paid to stay there for one night. When it came to deposit I offered cash or a different bank card both options, each having plenty more than the required $100. She refused each method because it wasn't under the same card I paid the reservation with. I was depending on this hotel to be safe place for the night and she yelled at me to stop crying and get out. They literally robbed me. Looking at all these other 1 star reviews within the last 2 months.... it sounds like the same older, heavy set, long greying hair woman. She purposely doesn't wear her name tag or answer the phone with her name and claims there is no manager present. Pretty sure she is the manager and lies about it so she can continue robbing their guests. P.S. I have been requesting a refund for this room I never checked into. They refuse. This is straight robbery. Look at all their google reviews too."

"This is my first business stay at Avid and I really appreciated the return to doing the basics and doing them well. The room met all my basic needs - cleanliness, comfortable bed, workspace, good WiFi, window coverings. The breakfast was also basic and done well: eggs, sausage, fried potatoes, excellent Costa coffee (fresh grind and brew). They have fruit and muffins as well. I will certainly look for Avid on my next business trip."
