Nice stay park and great dog walking area, and really appreciate the driveway parking! Overall it was great and would definitely stay over and over again if hosts will allow
My family and I stayed here while exploring the many attractions Colorado Springs has to offer. Check-in was a breeze! The home was very clean and spacious enough for all of us. It’s centrally located which makes traveling in the area very easy. I highly recommend this property!!
Convenient location, near everything we need. Good response from host when needed. Check out time was 10:00 with a later flight, so no allowances were made, so we sat at the airport a few hours. Overall definitely meet our needs for location and space.

Not as expected
Overall it was fine - the photos are accurate and it was mostly clean aside for it needing a solid spring dusting. BUT the description of the property is not accurate and I would not stay here again. The description describes the house as a duplex but it is really one house and the upstairs (which is what you are renting) is separated from the downstairs only by a thin mesh barrier at the stairs. This was a little unsettling for me and my mom as we didn’t know that would be the case and were uncomfortable in the space. Also the description says the house has AC as listed on the amenities but it does not - for a hot summer night it was not comfortable.
No AC, kitchen was not equipped with decent pans, creepy guy in the unit downstairs and creepy people in the RV outside. Oh and the host didn't care we went with out AC for 5 days with 90 temps... just terrible.
No A/C, house didn’t get below 87 degrees. There are people living in the basement with barking dogs. People living in a trailer next to the house. Couldn’t use the BBQ had a wasp nest inside. Ended up leaving a day early.
House was clean and exactly as described. Owner communication was excellent. Perfect for our group of 7. Nice neighborhood. Would stay again if the opportunity arises.
This house was really a great place to stay. Very spacious for family. Great location. Wildlife in your backyard, (rabbits and deer). Dustin was great to deal with, he always answered you back instantly. I would stay here again if I come back to Colorado Springs.
I will say be aware of 2 things. First is the property is upstairs and there is a second property below it. Second make sure you get the passcode prior to your ar4.
Dated property, okay for a work stay but not so much for vacation.
Peeling paint in bathtub, refrigerator smelled, back patio furniture was very dirty y and cigarette butts were still in ashtray. Loud voices in basement at various times and the garage doors opening below the primary bedroom at 6 am didn’t make for a relaxing vacay. For someone needing a work rental, the place is acceptable. But for vacation use, especially if you are quiet people, not so much.

Very Nice home
The House was Perfect for what we needed! The only Complaint was we sat in front of the house for almost an hour because the key box didn’t work, sent several messages to the owner but no response until later. The tenant downstairs was able to call someone to unlock for us.

Not good enough for the price
This location is great but the property was not clean, the code to access the property was not correct and it was loud throughout the course of the evening from the apartment downstairs. To top it off, there were no additional sheets or blankets for the air mattress or couch and the floor mats in the bathrooms were dirty.
Owner responsiveness to these concerns has been lacking to say the least. Thanks.
Did not know we were having someone in basement, nothing was mentioned about stairs untill after it was paid for!! House was nice, patio was dirty, tables not wiped off, chairs in no particular place, backyard was trashy looking, bear or something got in garbage and had it everywhere, no instructions were left to know how to work TVs, or what was expected of us to do before we left, dining room chairs neeed new padding. Tried to contact host, but couldn't, because of bad internet connection. Could be a beautiful place with a little effort! A book on counter with instructions would have been nicel!
I hate writing bad reviews, but I felt I really needed to warn people. It was so very disappointing for a family reunion of 4 people who haven't seen each other in a while. The photo of the stairs to the main door shows a handrail, but there are stairs below that without any handrails. I am disabled, so this was difficult for me. The false advertising. Talks about spacious home, but doesn't tell you the basement is rented (Vrbo advertises this doesn't happen). Talks about enjoying fire pit and up to a group of 10 people, and then on check in day throws all these rules about noise and things that would make it no fun to be there and are NOT listed in the Ad. Now the House: I was walking into the Hall bathroom and tripped over a broken tile and almost fell. The guest room with 2 queen beds with mattresses that you can feel the springs and squeaks so bad my cousin couldn't even sleep there. Dining table chairs that have no support for your butt and feels like your going to fall through it. A couch that is the worst I ever sat on and felt like it got picked up off the street. Spider webs and dirt in kitchen window. Dishwasher not securely attached. Bathtub drain stop sitting on vanity counter. Very few drinking glasses and mixed settings for 4, but definitely not for 10. A piece of wood from the frame of a dining chair laying under the baseboard heat. And then there are unsafe electric code violations. Not to mention trash in the front and back yard including vape pen.
We arrived at the house around check in time. The outside trash can had been knocked over and trash was scattered around with a strong, bad smell. When we entered the house it was very hot and the thermostat on the wall read 93 degrees Fahrenheit. The only room in the house that was inhabitable was the master bedroom where a portable a/c unit and ceiling fan were running. The other two bedrooms had portable a/c units, but they were not functioning. I tried to call the host, left a message and requested a call back. The host did not respond so I sent a message. When the host responded to my message he said the house did not have central ac, it was not listed in the amenities and when I requested a refund because we would not be staying there because it was not safe, he said they had a strict refund policy and since central a/c was not listed, they would not be issuing a refund. I requested a call back again and never received a return phone call. We determined the house did not have adequate options to cool the house to a reasonable, safe temperature and we notified the host we would not be staying there and got a hotel. I reached out to VRBO customer service and shared my concerns with them twice and have not received any resolution.

Okay for the price
So for the price it’s fine. Checking in was fine but definitely contact on your own prior to arrival for the code for entry, it was not sent automatically. Also there wasn’t a second key as instructed but no big deal. The house is surface clean but obviously not clean clean like I would assume it should be. Trash under the couch, behind furniture and under beds. The toilet bowl outside was not wiped, a few hairs noted in the shower, surface‘gunk’ behind sink, or light switches and kitchen sink. Upon arrival we looked around to familiarize with the home. Upon checking the dishwasher, there was stagnant water in the bottom caused a pungent foul smell from the dishwasher. We ran it a few times but odor persisted. We reported as well. The manager sent a repair request in and had someone come look at it but did t tell us so that was a surprise. Towels were old and worn andpillows were flat. The most uncomfortable part of our stay was the fact there is a basement apartment that is rented. I was totally uno and it’s advertised as whole home rental. The uncomfortable part is the door that is locked from our end but I’m unsure if it can be opened from the rental side, very creepy and I would have left if I hadn’t been carrying and had my husband there too. The motion light in the laundry room came on a few times we observed from the upstairs so I was unsettled with the idea of someone being able to access where we were staying either while I was there or if we left.
Our initial impression of the property was disappointing. Upon arrival, we found bags of trash torn open spread all over the right side of the house, it had maggots all over it. On the left side, there was what appeared to be a urine bottle, and a camper was parked on the property. Us among many I’ve read had issues getting into the property. The host was helpful to resolving the code issue to the front door. It was far from welcoming, even from a group of men.
While the duplex itself is updated and offers plenty of sleeping space, it lacks a fire wall between units and does not have soundproofing, making it difficult to avoid disturbing the tenants below. We were informed of noise monitoring system in the home and quiet hours upon check-in, but if we had known this in advance, we would not have booked this property.
During our game night, we received multiple noise complaints despite our efforts to keep the noise down. It felt a bit intrusive, especially as we were just trying to enjoy ourselves.
Additionally, the duplex does not have air conditioning in the whole house, one of the rooms did have a portable ac unit. Overall the house was very hot.
For those considering a stay, this property may not be ideal for families or anyone planning to stay up late, given the noise monitoring, poor property cleaning/outside up keep, the close proximity of the neighboring camper and lower unit. I do feel the host fees are not responsible either coming from a property owner.
