It was a perfect stay. Receptionist was nice and kind, room was clean, breakfast is good. Hot shower was nice also. Would recommend this.

Arranged airport pick~up but the driver was holding a different name so couldn't find him initially. Bed was comfortable but being situated next to the door, I was frequently woken up by people opening and shutting the creaky door. The bathroom was a bit dirty and all toilets were wet as they doubled as shower stalls. Hotel staff were super friendly and very helpful while the location was the best for catching an early train from Colombo Fort train station.

Nice budget alternative

I stayed in a premium capsule for two nights. It was nice and clean and the room had a perfect air conditioner. Also the service was good. This is a good budget alternative and the capsule concept will only get problematic if your roommates snore or can’t keep quiet during the night.

Backpackers paradise

A very good place for backpacking, very close to the center of city. The staff is friendly an helpful. And the capsules are very good. The breakfast was also quite nice

개별블라인드가 있는 도미토리는 찾기 힘들어서 여기 숙박했어요. 콜롬보포트역에서 툭툭으로 100루피 줬구요 주변에 먹을만한 식당이 없어서 미리 기차역에서 사드시거나 사가시면 좋을꺼 같아요. 숙소 깔끔하고 컨디션 좋았어요!

Superställe för nån enstaka övernattning. Påväg till/från flygplats eller för vidare resa i landet. Rent, säkert och väldigt hjälpsam personal. Sköna sängar och och väldigt tyst trots att många bor i samma rum. Sov mig igenom hela natten och jag är lättväckt.

Cool little spot with everything you need

Great for a quick stopover in Colombo. Thought it would be closer to the train station than it was but short rickshaw ride away. Capsules were comfortable, breakfast was okay, good info/service available from staff.

Clean, comfortable, capsule hotel stay.

Brief stay - really just to be close to Fort railway station for an early-morning train - but impressive capsule hostel at this price point, with clean and proper bedding. Beds are robustly built, so that others moving in their capsules don't creak too much, and there is plenty of space within the pod. Would happily stay again. Helpful staff host.

Nice place to stay for a night

The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was clean. The whole room which has a capacity of 20 people max had only 1 floor stand hanger that could only hang several clothes and was fully occupied by other residents.

El hotel es excelente, muy buena ubicacion y las camas son muy cómodas. Ideal pars viajeros en solitario. Llegue a las 8am al hotel y me cobraron 10€ por early check in, cuando por noche pagaba 13€. Un precio absolutamente alto. Además a las 11 me despertaron para hacer la habitación. Muy mal servicio en este caso. Deberían cobrar un precio razonable.

진짜 깨끗하고 쾌적했어요. 도미토리지만 침대가 크고 블라인드로 가릴 수 있어서 개인실 사용하는 느낌이 들 정도였습니다. 공항에서 콜롬보로 도착하는 정류장에선 툭툭으로 150루피 정도 됩니다

Just Fantastic

It was just fantastic!! Very clean and calm. toilet and all facilities were clean and useful. Towel and bed sheets were crispy and clean. Staffs were kind. They gave us warm welcoming and useful information. breakfast was really good. Strong wifi. All things were fantastic.

I usually don't stay hostel type of the places due to the shared bathroom, privacy and security concerns. But Star Anise was one of my best hotel experiences traveling in Sri Lanka. Very friendly and super kind staff, comfortable bed, kept clean in the bathroom and common areas which made my stay more comfortable. Thanks a lot Sajitha, Nanda kumar and Roshan!

I started and ended my trip here.

great place to start and end your trip in Sri Lanka.. it is 5 min walk to Fort station where I got a train to Hikka. I took a tuktuk from airpirt to this hostel for 1600 rupees. there is an ATM at bottom of the road. There is a roller blind to give you complere privacy in your capsule. Clean towel was provided WIFI is good. Hot water Roof terrace for smokers. Only slightly negative thing is that the USB outlet in the capsule barely charged my phone. I had to use regular charger. Breakfast sandwiches were not to my taste.

海外あるあるだけど、ホットシャワーは壊れてて使えなかった。従業員は淡々としててフレンドリーではない。部屋は清潔で快適だったのでよかった。
