About us:
‘Jan and Rick’
We are sister and brother, born in Salmon, Idaho, where our father worked with the US Forest Service (we always thought we had a personal connection with Smokey the Bear!). Our father’s work ultimately took us to California, where we settled in the San Francisco Bay Area. Jan and her husband, Craig, moved to the Coeur d’ Alene area with their two young sons in the early 1990s, following another sister and her family. Now our mother and a third sister have joined them in beautiful North Idaho.
Rick lives on the East Coast, where we works as a wine & beverage consultant. He tries to get to Coeur d’ Alene as often as possible, not just for the family card games, but also for the daily, morning walks on Tubbs Hill!
Jan, along with sister Julie, is a realtor in Coeur d’ Alene and has in depth knowledge of the region. Husband Craig is an avid sportsman and knows the best places to fly fish, or ice fish, depending on the season!
We have traveled extensively and love staying in Vacation Rentals. We have set up our two vacation properties - Nanny’s Bungalow & CdA Blue – the way we like to stay when on vacation. They are both fully-stocked, clean, cozy and uncluttered. You can have as much (or as little!) contact with us during your stay, as you like.
Jan (and our family team) will be your contacts during your visit. Rick is always available by email with any questions or concerns.
We hope you will enjoy your stay with us and fall in love with all that North Idaho has to offer.
BTW: Please note our 7-day and 28-day discounts!

Great communication and very nice cottage! Had everything we needed. 5 minute walk to town, beach and tubb hill, park and downtown. Very clean! A lot of little extras that most rentals don't have & the coffee was a nice touch. I appreciated a good old fashioned coffee maker! We will stay again.
The visit to Nanny’s bungalow was very enjoyable. The house is well appointed, clean, the beds are really comfortable, the location is quiet, close to Sanders Beach, Tubbs Hill and the downtown area. The hosts were accommodating and easy to communicate with.
The location, peace and quiet, and the home are perfect. Kitchen is set up nice, the beds are comfortable and bathroom is put together well. I travel to the area a lot, and I always try to stay there. You cant ask for more. The host is responsive, and its in a perfect location. Will definitely be back.
We really enjoyed our stay at Nanny’s Bungalow. The location was very convenient to walking, hiking, biking & downtown. The highway is close to visit Sandpoint, Wallace & Kellogg. The owners are very sweet & helpful. The house is cozy, clean & stocked with all the kitchen appliances you will need to cook.
What an amazing little house. The property was clean, quiet and had everything we needed, and was close to all amenities. There were bikes for us to use which we did. Jan, one of the owners greeted us and made sure we had the contact numbers for us if we had questions or in an emergency. Jan made us feel very welcome. We will definitely rent Nanna's cottage again if it is available.
A friend and I were in town for the weekend for a wedding. This location was great for walking to the church, the reception, downtown, and the lake. We didn't need our car once all weekend.
Nice, clean 2 bedroom home; just the right size for a small family. It’s close to downtown and restaurants/coffee shops. It was snowing so we didn’t really explore much but hope to be back soon.
The location is amazing! We walked everywhere. There is a grocery store one block away. Everything was clean. Beds were comfy. The only teeny tiniest of negatives was there was no creamer to go with the coffee, which was listed was provided. If we were going to have a slow lazy morning, i would have just messaged the host. But we were up early to hike Tubbs Hill, so hardly worth the trouble.
Staying at Nanny’s bungalow was so relaxing and had a perfect location! You are able to walk to the lake, trails, restaurants and the shops downtown! The back porch is perfect for morning and evening relaxation. Loved staying here!
We had an amazing stay at the bungalow over Mother’s Day weekend. The home was spotless, cozy, and the backyard was perfect for relaxing and barbecuing. We truly appreciated all the thoughtful touches from our hosts, along with the extra amenities that made our visit so enjoyable. Conveniently located within walking distance to downtown Coeur d’Alene, we loved exploring the parks, lake, and hiking trails, as well as sampling the delicious local cuisine. Thank you so much for hosting us!
Small and quaint, clean and comfy. Great location to the down town shops and great location if traveling to other destinations in the area ex: Sandpoint, Wallace, and many others. Would defin
The house was great, very clean, comfortable, no problems with access and great location close to everything. We had an awesome time, Coeur d’Alene is beautiful.
We were at Nanny’s Bungalow for four nights and found it to be clean, comfortable and inviting. Nice neighborhood near downtown. Helpful information left in binder by owners.
We spent a 3-day Property/House hunting in the CDA area. Nanny’s Bungalow was centrally located to go north to Athol and Sagle or south St Maries.
Nanny’s was clean, comfortable and close to yummy places to eat and the grocery store.
We will definitely stay there again until we find our little place of paradise in Northern Idaho!
Four of us went to visit family in CDA. The house was just what we needed. Two queen beds, outdoor seating and close to everything. We walked to dinner and breakfast. We rode bikes to the lake and had a birthday bbq on the patio. The hosts were the best and made sure we had what we needed.
We enjoyed our stay very much. The house was very clean and we had everything we needed. The kitchen was stocked well. We were close enough to town and the lake to walk.
The only suggestion I have is.... it would of been nice to have a kettle for hot water as I am a tea drinker and don't drink coffee.
It’s true. It is just like visiting Nanny’s home. Very clean, comfortable and so close to town. It’s an older home, but it’s ok if aware going into it. We Ioved the backyard, accessible bikes, and attention to detail. We will be back!
My husband and I were there celebrating his birthday. We have driven by this area many times on our way through, and we wanted to see first hand what it is like. We were definitely surprised by how trendy it is with good restaurants and also the very big resort. We did not know that many people would look at it as a destination resort. We were there at a very hot time of the year, and so very thankful for the air conditioning. It would be nice to come back in another season. The house was very cute and had everything that we needed. Highly recommend!
We stayed for a girls weekend. This location was perfect, easy walking to the lake, Tubbs Hill, coffee, the neighborhood was quiet and the house was very cute, clean, and had everything we needed. The beds were comfortable as well. We are already talking of staying here again.
