There were sone intial complications during check-in but the receptionist finally got it resolved. The hotel is fantastic. The sauna is clean. Walls are a bit thin so i can hear other tenants but very clean and staff are very friendly! I recommend!

Great location near Altstadt, parking garage nearby. Hotel common spaces could use a refresh, but acceptable comfort and cleanliness. Excellent breakfast buffet. Some rooms on upper floors not serviced by elevator

Was not impressed with the manager. Broken shower head wasn't fixed, he didn't seem to care. On the other hand, the breakfast buffet was fantastic.

A shadow of it's former self.

This hotel used to be a part of the Romantik chain of hotels and was excellent but now it's a hotel Garni, just bed and breakfast and a shadow of its former self. Reception only staffed 1 PM to 11 PM. Bar and restaurant closed. Poor selection of fruit at breakfast which was otherwise adequate. You must ask for your room to be serviced. The en-suite could do with being redecorated, as could several corridors. I had the feeling that the hotel was operating on a shoestring basis. The few staff on duty were friendly and professional.I had a good-sized room that was comfortable.

Caution: understand parking when reserving

Was very surprised to find a parking hassle upon arrival. We don’t speak any German and had a very difficult time finding public parking after checking in and being told there was no parking available as it was “first come first serve”. There was also no mention of construction on road to get to hotel. Again, not understanding any German, this caused anxiety and frustration that put a damper on our visit.

I do not recommend this hotel. I arrived at the hotel at 1:30 a.m., extremely tired after a long flight. I had booked this hotel only to rest during a short layover. Unfortunately, the experience was very unpleasant from the start. The man at the reception, greeted us with an unfriendly and aggressive attitude. He claimed that the check-in system was not working and insisted on keeping our passports for the check-in process. Passports are official and personal documents, and it is completely unacceptable to keep them overnight. When I refused to hand over our passports, he told me, “Then you can wait here for one hour.” I explained that I needed to rest because I had another flight at 5:00 a.m., but he still refused to proceed unless we gave him our passports. I suggested that he make copies and allow us to keep the originals, but he refused to listen. He wanted to keep our passports for the entire night, which is unacceptable behavior. Nothing was handled professionally or smoothly. In the morning at checkout, after only three hours of sleep, did not communicate at all. I was left waiting without any explanation of what I needed to do. The door was locked during the night, and I had to wait for him to open it. When I told him I needed to leave, he said, “No sir, you need to pay the city tax.” I had no problem paying the tax, but the lack of communication and basic courtesy was unacceptable. At the very least, guests should be clearly informed of what is expected of them.
