We came to Coalhurst to see family and use this area as a home base to visit Waterton and Glacier National parks. Worked out really well! The suite was very comfortable and spacious. It was big enough to have a nice relaxing family dinner.
There was no stove, but there were enough small appliances like a toaster oven and electric frying pans to cook with no problem.
Would definitely go back again. The hosts were very kind and accommodating.
The hosts were friendly and very accommodating.
We were booked in for a week. The property is immaculate and very well looked after. The hosts were amazing to deal with very friendly folk! Super homey and most of all clean! We would stay here again! Had everything we needed! Beds were super comfortable for a great nights sleep!
Large, clean, bright basement suite which fit our family of 7 very well. Two young children enjoyed the playground equipment, running in the spacious backyard, checking out the chickens in the nearby enclosure and petting the friendly cats. Communication with the owners was clear and effective and we enjoyed an uninterrupted stay that we’d recommend in a heartbeat. The homemade cookies were a bit of icing on top of the experience.
We were so pleased with our stay at this property. It was so much bigger than I had expected, very clean and comfortable. 3 good sized bedrooms and even a small 4th with a crib and a twin bed, perfect for families. A large flat screen tv and pool table kept my son and husband occupied during down time and the wifi worked very well.
Our host Bert and his wife were very nice and accommodating and made sure we had everything we needed. The location is out on a peaceful rural road on a small farm but it is close to grocery stores and restaurants. Can't say enough good things about this place.

Liked: Cleanliness, location
Disliked: Check-in, listing accuracy
This is not a true Vrbo, hosts live upstairs
Vrbo’s website says “The host won’t be there” other online descriptions of Vrbo say “Only entire homes are listed on Vrbo, so you’ll never have to share with the host …” and “homeowners on Vrbo only rent out the whole property, which means you won’t find anyone else sharing the space with you.” The basement suite (you don’t get the entire home) was spacious and clean but an active family lives on the main floor and several nights they were loud until well past the 11:00 pm quiet time stated in the rules. We had to ask twice for the bbq the listing said was included, the first time we asked, the homeowner said to come up and use the one on their main deck which we were not comfortable doing. We use a bbq a lot (sometimes twice a day), it’s was frustrating to have to ask a second time. The bbq was part of why we picked this rental. The door of the basement locked from the inside but not from the outside so we had to leave it unlocked whenever we left. The yard was beautiful but you didn’t have any privacy, not only was there a family upstairs, there is another house on the property and people around all the time.I debated leaving a review because I couldn’t say glowing comments like others have done but several family members encouraged me to. There have only been 2 reviews in the last 2 years, why I wondered, maybe others didn’t want to say how things really are here. Yes, the hosts seemed kind but there shouldn’t be hosts at a Vrbo.
Me, my wife, and 2 little girls came and were repeatedly happily surprised.
The place has more rooms than I expected, the living room with the tv and pool table is enormous, the yard is gorgeous, the landscaping beautiful, negligible light pollution so the stars are bright and full, the animals are super friendly, the decor is really nice and tasteful, the location is a breeze to get to and recognise, entry to the facility is easy and convenient, parking is spacious and easy, and it’s located only 10-15 minutes from Lethbridge via highway and/or back roads as preferred.
Thanks Bert for a great stay!!
Very spacious and clean. Lacked a sports channel on the TV and a little difficult to find in the night as its on a rural road and there are no lights but otherwise we had everything that we needed for a great stay. We would definitely stay there again if we were down in Lethbridge again.
This place is a great place for those who want to stay outside of the city but near a city. It has a lot of room to relax both inside and outside. And the owners were very helpful and generous with their space. I'd highly recommend it!
Beautiful well-appointed & maintained rural property. Accommodations very comfortable & private while offering opportunity to access multiple options for activity & small group interaction. Hosts were very welcoming, accessible when needed & always helpful/responsive. Rural park-like setting is idyllic; access to property is easy off paved highway. Location to surrounding towns only minutes away.
This is the second time we have stayed here when working in the area. The rental is spacious with all the amenities in a quiet rural setting that is easy to get to.
This was an excellent property, close to where we were working but in a quiet rural setting. The accommodations were exactly as described and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will consider it for future trips to the area.
We loved our experience at this property! Perfect place for my family (including my baby nephew) to stay while at a family wedding. Very spacious and clean. Thanks!
A very welcoming, clean property with extra touches such as, basic fresh groceries stocking the fridge (bread, eggs, milk, butter etc) which was a welcome touch, as we had travelled some distance, had not had time to stop to shop, and just wanted to settle in for the night, but were also "peckish"!
The property was spacious, both inside and out, which was ideal for our our active family - the pool table was a BIG hit and provided many hours of "cross generational" time and interactions! The games cupboard was also a very good idea, and well used. Outside there was much appreciated space and if the ground had not been muddy I'm sure the children would have availed themselves of the playgound structures....we had 3 boys with lots of energy to burn!
Beds were most comfortable and well supplied with beautiful duvets and quilts.
The country setting was lovely, and quiet, but also very convenient to town (10mins drive), should one need to go there.
The property offered a variety of options for spending our time together...something to suit everyone.
Only challenge was cooking for 6/7 ...took a bit of planning using 2 hotplates and minimal counterspace. I was very hesitant to use the toaster oven as it was at quite a height, and from my perspective this was a safety issue because if I was to try and remove a cooked item with juice or hot sauce in the dish this could have spilled out onto me as I was removing it. This is the same reason I dislike and won't use above stove microwave ovens.
We brought our own crockpot which helped.
We would consider using this property again
