"B&B in a very quiet rural location with a lovely friendly host. Our room was spacious, light and airy with good wifi Very comfortable bed with quality bedding and towels. A traditional breakfast with lots of home made preserves and fresh apple juice. No resaurants nearby, so we brought prvisions for our evening meal. We loved the three donkeys in the field opposite, the great views and the stunning sunset."

"Hello, What we liked the most at this hotel was the staff. Namely, a wonderful lady by the name Veronica. She demonstrated great competence, professionalism, and commitment to take care of us as guests. Her interpersonal skills were outstanding and her strong ability to be patient and address our concerns were fantastic. Veronica definitely made us want to come to this hotel in the future. Many thanks Veronica and Ibis Staff. Hb"

8/10 Good

"We had a wonderful week in La Romieu and thoroughly enjoyed our holiday. The location is beautiful: peaceful, full of character and surrounded by stunning countryside. La Romieu and nearby places such as Condom are well worth exploring. The property is fantastic for a large group. There were 28 of us and we made some brilliant memories here. The pool, outdoor space and setting make it a very special place. There are some areas for improvement. Our main concern was damaged tiles around the pool, which we discussed with the owner and were told would be repaired. Some sun loungers would also be a welcome addition. There were a few minor maintenance issues, but nothing that spoiled our holiday. Our main disappointment came after leaving. We received upsetting messages about cleaning and were initially told we had not paid the 280 cleaning fee. Our receipt confirmed we had, which the owner later acknowledged. We accept guests should leave a property respectfully and genuinely believed we had done so. With 28 people staying for a week, a few minor things may have been overlooked, but clearer departure instructions would have avoided much of the misunderstanding. To her credit, the owner acknowledged communication could have been clearer. Also check bedding and towel arrangements before travelling, as these cost extra.Overall, a beautiful property in a wonderful part of France. With improved communication and some maintenance, this would have been a 10/10 stay."

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Clermont-Dessous?

The best area to stay in Clermont-Dessous is within the village centre itself, particularly for its convenience and access to local amenities.

The heart of Clermont-Dessous is quite compact, centred around the historic church and the Mairie (town hall). You'll find charming stone houses, often with private gardens, and it's from here that you can easily walk to the riverfront, the local boulangerie for your morning pastries, and the few small, family-run restaurants. This area provides a genuine taste of rural French life.

Couples looking for a tranquil and romantic getaway will find the village centre ideal. The quiet streets, scenic views of the Lot River, and the opportunity to enjoy local cuisine in an intimate setting create a great escape. Many properties here offer private terraces, great for enjoying a glass of local wine as the sun sets.

Families will also appreciate staying within the village centre. With easy access to the river for gentle walks or picnics, and the ability to stroll to the bakery for breakfast treats, it offers a relaxed holiday pace.
