  • Charming cottage nestled in the heart of Clayton Ny, in the Thousand Islands. Voted one of the coolest small towns in North America, the cottage is now open for your vacationing pleasure.

    Just one block from the majestic St.Lawrence river and walking distance from the Antique Boat Museum. There are many shops, restaurants and marinas to choose from. By the way, Clayton is located between scenic Cape Vincent and Alexandria Bay.

    If you get tired of shopping, the fishing is great as well--, located near French creek and Frink park where you can fish from the wall or bring your boat and use the ramp by the Antique Boat Museum. Why not see a performance at the Clayton Opera House while you're in Clayton.

Lovely cottage experience!

Morningstar Cottage is a lovely little spot both near the water and Clayton shops. It was very clean, comfortable and welcoming - would definitely stay there again!

Perfect Vacation Cottage

This is the second time I have stayed at Morning Star Cottage and it was perfect for my needs. Very clean and spacious. It is close to the town dock, so very convenient for boaters.

Wonderful cute cottage and even better location. Walking distance to so much in Clayton and short drive to Alexandria Bay. Clean and well stocked. Would stay again.

Everything you need in a quiet friendly neighborhood.

This quaint and welcoming cottage, comfortably situated within easy reach of Clayton's attractions, boasts two bedrooms, laundry facilities, a living room, a kitchen, and a charming porch. My stay here was truly delightful.

Clayton Cottage Charm

Morning Star Cottage was just what we needed for a long term stay. I have to say that the bathtub was wonderful! The location is perfect being an easy walk to the Antique Wooden Boat Museum and downtown Clayton. Our host was attentive to just the right degree. We would definitely stay there again.

Perfect Stay

Great little cottage located within easy walking distance to everything in Clayton. Beautiful sunset views from the pier just a block away and lovely views of bunnies hopping about in the garden from the kitchen window! Host is warm and welcoming. We hope to be back!

Nice chill spot

Cute cozy cottage behind the main house, private driveway, very safe and secure area. Walking distance to most places, can hear a pin drop outside after 7pm. Owner and neighbors very pleasant :-) would stay again next year

Great Location

Property owner, Kathy, is very kind a welcoming. We had no needs but confident that she would have addressed them if we did. Very clean quaint cottage with easy walk to everything Clayton has to offer.

Lovely Clayton Getaway

We very much enjoyed our stay in Kathy's cottage. The location was perfect, we could see the river right from the yard, and the property is within easy walking distance to restaurants, the shops, the riverside parks and the boat museum. The property is clean and nicely appointed. The furnishings were charming and we enjoyed the porch with the umbrella table. The kitchen is stocked with the necessary utensils, dishes and pots. Kathy is a warm and welcoming host who gave us our privacy. We would definitely return!

Darling

Best way to describe this cozy little place. We've stayed before & will book, again, next time we travel to Clayton. In fact, we won't travel to Clayton unless we can stay here. It's completely charming, close to the Boat Museum, an easy walk to the central shopping/eating area, and a long stone's throw to The River. Communication with the landlady is easy & thorough. Parking is a breeze. All photos posted are accurate & true. It's a charmer!

This is a gem of a property. Conveniently located in Clayton. So easy to walk to the waterfront area. The host is a wealth of information and very kindly gave us excellent recommendations for our stay. The weather was not hot enough for us to need the air conditioners as we were happy to leave the windows open and use the ceiling fans to keep us comfortable.

Morning Star Cottage is absolutely delightful! Our host, Kathy, has a great eye for detail and anticipated our every need. The lodgings were spacious, clean, and extremely comfortable, not to mention beautifully decorated. The location was perfect. We had an easy and picturesque walk to town from Alexandria Street. Kathy provided us with plenty of information regarding local eateries and attractions. She is an outstanding host who is responsive and always available to chat, yet unobtrusive. We truly enjoyed our stay at Morning Star Cottage and definitely will be back.

Great place to stay

Good location for a stay in Clayton NY. Stayed there from a week of fishing and it is conveniently located walking distance from the municipal boat ramp that has no parking. The host was awesome and made the stay very enjoyable. Will stay there again.

Excellent stay

Wonderful location, great place, fantastic host. You can walk to all of Clayton’s major attractions and Alexandria Bay is a short drive away. Everything was amazing! We’ll keep coming back.
