About this property
Beautiful 18th century property on the banks of the river Lot
Idyllically situated on the banks of the River Lot, Les Tabacs gîte is part of a beautiful manor farm called Les Séchoirs, which dates back to 1780. Its riverside location is truly unique and offers ample opportunities for relaxation and exploration. The gîte has a spacious covered terrace, an enclosed garden and a seating area with a beautiful view of the river. For water sports enthusiasts, there are several options, including a rowing boat and shared facilities such as a canoe, sailing boat and a spacious motorboat to explore the river.
The gîte retains much of its original charm and characteristic details, creating an attractive living space. The spacious living and dining room offers every comfort, while the fully equipped kitchen is equipped with modern conveniences, including a dishwasher and microwave. In the living room there is a television and CD player for entertainment. The gîte has a beautiful bathroom and a separate toilet. Both bedrooms offer beautiful views of the Lot River.
Les Tabacs is located on the ground floor and is particularly suitable for families with young children or older guests who have difficulty with stairs. Moreover, the garden of Les Tabacs is completely fenced, which gives parents with small children a reassuring feeling.
Free broadband Wi-Fi is available in each gite and in the vicinity of the swimming pool. A baby cot and a high chair are available for the little ones. Please request this when booking so that we can reserve it for you. Bed linen is provided in each gite. There are ample parking spaces available, and there is room for motorcycle enthusiasts to safely store their motorcycles. Several washing machines and a dryer are available in a central room.
The beautiful swimming pool offers a breathtaking view of the Lot and is surrounded by a large covered terrace with sun loungers. There are also two spacious tobacco barns (Séchoirs) on the site, where you can store bicycles. In one of the tobacco barns there is a communal room with a table tennis table, a pool table and a cozy sitting area with an extensive collection of books. The park-like garden also has a jeu de boule court, a trampoline and football goals for additional recreational options.

Been coming to France for many years and this was easily the best accommodation we have stayed , clean very comfortable and well appointed with fabulous situation on the river bank , the hosts Frank and Denise did everything they could to make sure we had a great holiday definitely coming back
The perfect way to enjoy a holiday! Thanks to our wonderful hosts Crissie and John, who provided us with all we needed. Starting with a wonderful quiet accommodation and spacious premises with a refreshing pool. You didn‘t even need a car to get to the next supermarket or bakery and still so quiet. Crissie and John were extremely helpful with any useful information you need regarding activities, sights or places to eat.
The gite is very cozy, there’s nothing you would miss.
Still plenty to see, we will come back next year. Thanks for everything, we are looking forward to seeing you again!
Jan and I had planned a French road trip with Les Sechoirs as our chill out week by the river. We were not disappointed. Our gite Les Tabacs was a beautiful retreat with the river, fishing platform and boat at the bottom of the garden. John and Chrissie we welcoming, friendly and full of ideas to fill our days. We did venture out to some beautiful villages and spent some time in Bordeaux but much of the time we were more than happy to spend time by the river or the pool. Clairac just a short walk along the river is small but hosts some surprisingly good restaurants, our favourites being the Creperie d'Eglise and the fabulous L'Ecuelle D'Or. I did get the fishing rods out occasionally but although the carp did not cooperate I was so relaxed it did not seem to matter.

Style in a stunning location
Every bit as impressive as the photos and more! The views of the river from the bedrooms were wonderful and from the infinity pool even better. We in Les Tabacs and the extra living space more than made up for the short walk round to the riverside deck; the styling touches were just enough to make it special without becoming kitsch. Everything was clean and well-maintained and well-equipped. Our hosts, John and Chrissie, could not have been more welcoming and full of helpful knowledge and tips to make the most of enjoying the area. The local supermarket was a pleasant few minutes walk away along the riverside and stocked everything we needed so self-catering could not have been easier. Beyond Clairac, we explored several of the bastide villages and a trip to Chateau Bonaguil was a real hit with our teenage daughters ("It's Narnia!"). Only the pleasure of lazing in and by the pool prevented us from enjoying more of what the area had to offer. Overall, the best two weeks of holiday we have had in years.
