Quaint place, more of a pub with rooms. No food despite breakfast being shown as available on the room information folder. Good bar well stocked with a range of drinks available. Decent room, clean tidy and well serviced. We slept very well, comfy bed and good duvet and pillows. When we left no staff to pay my bill to. Had to find a cleaner who rang somebody for details and then took a card payment. Overall good value for money. 😄👍

Basic but good location.

Rooms were comfortable and location of hotel excellent as close to Forest of Dean. No breakfast available and have to walk to the adjacent hotel, the Belfry, for breakfast. The breakfast there was extortionate.. I paid £30 for a bowl of cereal, scrambled eggs on toast, a side of toast and coffee! Day light robbery! The Littledean itself is basic. Rooms are comfortable but the whole hotel is very tired looking and desperately needs a face lift. Staff were friendly.

Excellent budget hotel

A really lovely pub/hotel. We stayed in the middle of October. Our room was very well appointed for the cost. The bed was incredibly comfortable, more so than more expensive hotels that we have stayed in. The owner was very welcoming and accommodating and the pub friendly and cosy. Would highly recommend.

Nice small single room

Lovely little place in a small single room with a semi comfy bed with small en suite. Room above the restaurant so I didn’t hear any noise from the pub at any point. Girl who checked me in was lovely.

Lovely location and friendly staff, however the room was very noisy with running water and flushing from other rooms, loud enough to prevent me from sleeping and I'm half deaf.

Absolutely enjoyed our short stay here at Littledean House Hotel! The rooms were a decent size, beds had comfortable blankets and pillows and the en-suite bathrooms were more than adequate. We were surprised at how much room the kids had to play with their monster trucks 😀! Breakfast was conveniently located at Belfry Inn a short walk away. The view from the garden was lovely. Sand was very efficient at check in and super helpful and friendly when it came to recommendations for food and activities. It was our first visit to the Forest of Dean area and this made for a good experience. Would stay again. We stayed with two small kids 3 and 6 and a wee one 5 months. The staff from housekeeping was also very sweet to the baby.

Fabulous

Incredibly historic old hotel, parts of which are Jacobean. Yet despite this, it doesn’t feel half done at all. The bar is terrific with a contemporary twist which doesn’t detract from the ancientness of the place at all. My room was spotless and my bed soooooo comfortable it was a struggle to get out. I arrived late and it was snowing so didn’t get to appreciate quite where l was but, in the morning, the sun was blazing and the thaw was on and the view from the gardens behind the hotel are stunning and indeed, Littledean itself is nestled in the most beautiful location it’s hard to leave. Combined with the wonderful welcome and hospitality of the young lady behind the bar whose name l cannot remember l’m ashamed to say. Thoroughly recommend and l will most certainly be back. Thankyou guys 👍

On arrival there was no staff to be found. Entrance was at the back of the hotel from the car park, the building was very dated with used beer kegs strewn everywhere. What once must have been a lovely hotel with water features and rolling lawns with numerous outhouses, is now just a local bar with a garden. The rooms themselves were clean and tidy. Its a shame that it has been neglected for so long. It has alot of potential if soneone is willing to spend alot of time and money..

A must visit!

Fantastic place which was super clean, lovely room with a mattress that gave me the best nights sleep I've had. Will definately be coming back as the staff were lovely and friendly.
