The Cijin Seaside Park is a long area of picturesque terrain along the west coast of Cijin Island. Take a leisurely stroll past intriguing architectural designs with a constant view of the Taiwan Strait. The park incorporates a long path for walking and cycling as well as an ecological area and Cijin Beach.
Walk out onto the pier and take the kids to the playground and other spacious play areas. Enjoy the relaxing atmosphere and the salty smell of the sea, while the children clamber over the climbing frames for hours.
Stroll down Cijin Beach to admire the views of the sea and spot surfers approaching the rough waves to practice their moves. Sit with a picnic or enjoy fresh seafood from one of the restaurants facing the beach. The area is famous for its sunset photo opportunities. Spend a romantic evening with your partner watching the sun go down over the golden sea.
Appreciate the serene atmosphere, with very few crowds on the extensive stretch of land. The sand is soft and clean, while the water is fairly warm year-round. Purchase sweet potatoes and other fresh produce from market vendors. Local items, such as fresh food and handicrafts, are available at the street market next to the seaside park.
Make your way to the northern part of the island to see the historic Cihou Fort, which dates back centuries. The Cijin Lighthouse is an elegant structure at the top of a set of outdoor steps. There are plenty of facilities, such as restrooms and showers, dotted along the coast.
Ride the metro to Sizihwan Station in the southwest corner of Kaohsiung, before taking a short ferry ride across the water to Cijin Island. Once there, walk or take a taxi to the Cijin Seaside Park on the west coast of the tiny island.
