We have just come back from a week at Akti Beach near Paphos. This was our first holiday in Cyprus, both of us have Cypriot friends and we are in our late 50's and fortunately active. The staff from reception to cleaners were friendly, the cleanliness first class. Possibly the start of the season, a lot of painting had obviously been done, new bedding and kitchen utensils. It was too far to walk to Paphos Centre but we dont like crowds and it was a nice walk (uphill) to the bus stop which run about every 15 minutes. For 3 euros you can get a day ticket and use it within the town area which is nice if you want to see the old town, Coral Bay and generally jump on to Lidl's and back. The complex had two nice adult outdoor swimming pools which were well kept. We did go self catering and ate out early evenings in Paphos, going back to the hotel about 8 still on our bus ticket .The room had all the facilities we wanted, oven, rings, microwave, toaster, fridge, heater & air conditioning and a small supermarket was on site. Right on the beach front, so a lovely view as you are sunbathing and we would go again as we got value for money
