Little Orchard Cottage is a delight! It is charming, quaint and centrally located (5 minute walk to High Street, shops, pubs) in Chipping Campden. Importantly, it has all modern amenities (excellent shower, plenty of hot water, zippy WiFi, lovely linens, a nice kitchen, etc.) without sacrificing any of the qualities of a centuries old thatched roof cottage in the Cotswolds. The master bedroom is large and has plenty of storage for a week’s stay or longer. The second bedroom, with an en suite bathroom, is a little smaller and also has plenty of storage. We spent several evenings in front of the fire in the living room with both the guidebooks and novels that came with the house and enjoyed the views of the well-tended and lovely gardens. As we entered the house and familiarized ourselves, we exclaimed, “this is what we hoped for!”
As with visits anywhere, the host makes the visit and Maggie was a dream. From the tasty goodies she left us, to the fresh flowers, to the immaculate cleanliness of the house, we felt welcomed and valued as her guests. But it was on a rainy Sunday that Maggie really showed how a host can make a vacation. On a local trip our car was broken into and my wife’s purse, and the house key, were stolen. Maggie responded quickly got us back into the house and out of the rain. As we sorted out this potential trip-killer, Maggie was sympathetic and helpful and very responsive to our calls.
This is a delightful place and we recommend it highly!
