Overall this is a comfortable house. Good location, and lots of room inside. Could use a washer/dryer, and the A/C units are a bit loud, especially bedroom. But we enjoyed the stay, with our big family.
Our group chose this house because of its beautiful view of the water and wooded area at the rear, and it did not disappoint. The living room and dining area were comfortable and spacious, and the bedrooms and bathrooms were clean and comfortable. We also liked the fact that the two bathrooms were accessible to all guests, instead of having one attached to a master bathroom, as is the case with many rentals.
The one problem we ran into was that the heat didn't work, which meant that the indoor temperature ranged between 59 and 62 degrees. Coastal Shores and the owners responded promptly to try to rectify the problem, and in the end we were very happy with the resolution.
Communication with Coastal Shores was excellent throughout the entire process, from the time that we secured the rental.
Overall the house was great! We were there only two nights, we wish we could have stayed longer. There are a few things worth mentioning. One of the mattresses upstairs was uncomfortable. There is not a single lamp or end table in the bedrooms downstairs. We felt all but one room could have used a lamp. The lights in the ceiling are fine but sometimes you don’t want that much light. There are not enough dinner forks for a house that sleeps 12. I’m not even sure there were 12 forks altogether because I didn’t count them as we didn’t need that many. The table in the kitchen was roomy and perfect for us, I’m not sure it would seat 12 comfortably, however the screened in porch with the picnic table offers another nice place to have a meal. An extra roll of toilet paper in each bathroom would have been nice, especially had we had 12 people, but one roll per bathroom was adequate for our small group. Had we known that the screen door to the sliding glass door was retractable, we wouldn’t have thought it was broken. A note about that would have been helpful. Also the handle IS broken on the inside of that screen door. All those things are really just small details. Sitting out on the open deck was our favorite part of the house! We were fortunate to have beautiful weather and NO mosquitoes! It’s a wonderful place to stay in October, so peaceful and quiet! We had beautiful views of the sun rise and moon rise. The rental company was quick to respond to texts, which was appreciated!
Great location. Really nice layout. 2 fridges in the kitchen. Lots of windows. Parking for 3 cars. Downsides.....no dishwasher, no washer/dryer, no icemaker.
We enjoyed our stay at Ryokan! We had a group of 12 and the house worked very well for our group. The house was clean and we really enjoyed the back deck and view of the water. Just a note for future guests - everyday supplies were very minimal. (One roll of toilet paper per bathroom, no hand soap in bathrooms, no paper towel, no coffee filters) There was a small box of sample size items for kitchen and bathroom. We were there for the weekend and did need to buy quite a few items at the dollar store. We would still definitely recommend the house!
The house is very specious with a cozy vibe. I was disappointed as it rained all day Saturday and couldn't enjoy either one of the decks. The top deck was inaccessible which was the best feature the house offers (it would have been fantastic to seat there and watch the stars) There was no cover on the 2nd deck and the flooring is not sealed so all the rain made it impossible to seat on the swing area at the lower level. There was no WIFI code available (not listed on the instructions posted on the fridge) service was super slow but survived...LOL
