WE ARE LOCATED in the Appalachian Foothills of Southern Ohio about 10 miles west of Jackson, 6 miles north of Beaver in Liberty Township, Jackson County, Ohio.  Our 70 acre property offers high rock cliffs, deep gorges, and hidden caves. View picturesque nature from over three miles of clearly marked, scenic trails. Come, getaway at Liberty Retreat! 

NO ADDED FEES.  Our nightly rate includes all we offer. We don't nickel & dime you with additional fees. It's all included at LIBERTY RETREAT. Everyone really seems to like it. 

CARETAKER'S COTTAGE, originally built in the 1960's, was totally refurbished in 2021 with comfort and relaxation in mind. Caretaker's Cottage displays rustic charm with all the modern conveniences. 

AFTER A DAY of interacting with the great outdoors, indulge by soaking your cares away in our amazing private hot tub. Play your favorite tunes on our Bluetooth outdoor speakers. Perfect for romantic escapes, anniversaries, birthdays, honeymoons or any other reason to ... getaway 

IN THE EVENING, start with a crackling fire. Listen to the soothing sounds of owls, tree frogs and whippoorwills as you view the innumerable stars in the night sky. We love it here. We know you will too. 

WE LIVE HERE on the property. Our home is located about 250' from the cottage. The cottage is semi secluded & due to the foliage we can barely see it, but we're close enough to help if you need something. You may see us out doing yard work, but other than that, we stay out of sight. 

PLEASE READ our Company Policies. This serves as our Rental Agreement. You acknowledge this at booking. Please take the time to read it. If you can't find it, please ask. We'll send a pdf copy. You will be required to acknowledge our policies, complete and sign our liability waiver at check in.

We used the cabin for a mother-daughter trip. We absolutely loved all that the cabin and property had to offer. The decor was lovely, comfortable, and plenty of space to relax and explore. We slept well, we had fires each night, and the hot tub was a welcomed treat after hiking through the Hocking Hills area each day. Mark was very kind amd accommodating as well. We would love to go back!

Nice Getaway

Lovely Retreat

Beautiful, well kept cabin on a lovely wooded property. My niece and I enjoyed grilling dinner and relaxing in the hot tub. We had a quiet getaway. We also explored a winery and other nearby towns. We also hiked trails on the property. The cabin was well stocked with paper products, utensils, dishes, games and movies.

Great Getaway

Peaceful and Cozy

The home was very homey and quaint. It had everything we needed including robes and ingredients to make smores. The hiking paths were wonderful and it was great being able to stay on the property. . Would definitely stay here aagain

Cozy home away from home

A cozy cabin, with a kitchen to cook our dinners, and a hot tub to relax in! We just wanted to get away for a few days. We drove into Jackson a couple times to go to their brewery and coffee shop. We also said hi to the owners dog and cat! Thanks for a great stay.

Fantastic Getaway

Liberty Retreat is an amazing place to step away from the world and relax! Sandy and Mark, the owners were so accomadating and helpful! the propery was impressive, even with some rain we had a chance to take in some of trail on thier property. A wonderful opportunity to spend some time together. The cottage is even better than the pictures show! We had a great stay and will be back!

Amazing cottage and location

These hosts have your comfort, relaxation, and adventurous spirit in mind at all times!...The cottage is super clean and has everything you need for one night or many nights. The property of 70 acres is gorgeous and fun to hoke!

Great little getaway

My wife and I stayed here for a short anniversary getaway. As others had mentioned, the owners include lots of small details to make the stay more comfortable, and we had a wonderful time.

Great place to stay. Has everything you need and more. Beds are very comfortable as is couch. Great hiking trails! Not far from stores/supplies. Would absolutely recommend and stay here again!

Perfect getaway!!!!

We had a wonderful stay. Everything was just as described. Mark and Sandy have thought about everything. From the moment we got there to the moment we left it felt like home. Comfy and clean getaway cottage!

We really enjoyed our stay at Liberty Retreat. With my wife being a house cleaner, cleanliness is huge for us and we were very happy with everything. The kitchen had all the utensils, pots, pans and seasonings for us to cook all of our meals there. Loved the hot tub and the trails were cool to walk through. We would definitely stay again, especially when the weather is a little warmer!

Better than described

The house is very beautiful. The layout is simple which gives it the home away from home feeling. Very comfortable beds and a few nice companions that come by to say hello and let you pet them. Definitely coming back here again.

I have been around the world and stayed in 5 star hotels and resorts, NONE have given me the comfort and convenience as liberty retreat. The house was cozy, the property was beautiful and the host were fantastic! Heck , even the pets were great greeters!!

Absolutely beautiful

Despite the snowstorm of the decade...we had a wonderful time with beautiful views and a wonderfully appointed cabin. Soft towels and robes! A wonderful array of birds in the feeders out by the front door.

The cottage was really cute and comfortable. It had everything you could imagine you might need during your stay. The trails were beautiful to hike on and the fall colors were striking. Easy to get to and not very far from Hocking Hills.

Peaceful Retreat

We had a wonderful stay! We hiked around the forest property, went to hocking hills, found a few local restaurants within 30 minutes, and felt very safe here. The kitchen was fully stocked, and they even left some snacks for our hungry teenagers! The hosts were very welcoming as we drove by, and very responsive when we used the app. I would definitely recommend!!!

Our stay here was so relaxing, so comfortable, and we were attended to so well, you may be surprised that when we arrived a storm had take out electric power. Our hosts had all in hand, with oil lamps, and hock made this beautiful cabin even more special.
