The staff were all nice. The property is very charming and it was really nice to smell the flowers in the courtyard when I came back to the hotel. The library and sitting room were very cute but I had no use for them… it was open air and in July it’s too hot and mosquitoes love me.its a convenient area if you like restaurants and bars in walking distance. Chiang Rai bus terminal 1 is super close as well as the night market. Hotel is across from the big clock and swarms of swallows come out at dusk to feed on bugs. I did not like the blinking lights (telephone & smoke detector) it’s quite bright when the room is pitch black. Also, there is no door to close off the bathroom. There’s a privacy door to the toilet and one to the shower on the other end, however no actual bathroom door. So yes you can literally smell and hear EVERYTHING if you are rooming with others.

I guess you get what you pay for. This hotel is not boutique by any means. It is out of the way down lots of back streets. Our room was up a set of stairs (2) without a lift but we did not know this until we got to the bottom of the stairs. The room was spacious enough, the wet room is great! Air conditioning is one unit plus a fan.The walls are very thin/ barely there in some cases and there was a group of boys there who made a lot of noise for the both nights we were there. The bed is very hard. We asked for a topper for the second night but it made little difference. The chain to secure the door overnight was not in the right place so we could not use it to secure the door. The staff upon arrival were friendly. We asked about a tour and the young lady gave us the wrong information even though I told her the correct information as it was written on the card. A lady who seemed to have a lot about her came and corrected her. The staff at breakfast are miserable. The second morning we waited to be seated but no one came, eventually we went to seat ourselves and were quickly approached for our room number. We sat down, there was only one place setting but no one came to bring any other so we took some from another table. We were not even asked if we wanted tea/ coffee which we had the previous day. Everything looked too much bother, especially if you asked a question. There is a river running behind the hotel where you can sit but the river is very muddy and not very pretty.
