Our stay at the Rasa Boutique Hotel in Chiang Rai was generally pleasant. The reception was friendly and efficient and less bureaucratic than some Thai hotels: We had two rooms, one for me and my wife and a second for my wife's sister and her young adult daughter, who arrived later. We were able to check into both rooms without needing to have everyone's ID copied. The hotel is slightly dated but is designed in a nice Moorish theme. The pool was easily accessible but did not appear to be that well maintained; quite a bit of small debris was floating in it, but that was a minot annoyance. Our rooms had no water pressure for the showers when we arrived, but after we alerted the front desk, maintenance people took care of the issue quickly. Breakfast buffet is adequate, but not fancy, though fresh brewed coffee was served. Our rooms were on the second floor, but there was no elevator. (Not bad for us, but a caveat for people needing accessibility.) One comment on printed information in the hotel description: The Chiang Rai night bazaar is described as being a "17-minute walk" from the hotel, when it's actually about three kilometers away, and you really need to take a cab. The King Meng Rai the Great Monument also is a bit more than the "2-minute walk" in the description. It's fairly close, but more like 8-10 minutes away!
Very friendly staff, good pool. Receptionist gave me tips on local restaurants and attractions. Rooms are nice, clean, thick pillows, hot showers.
Main complaint is the lack of attractions nearby, with most of the scenery 1km away.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
For the price, I think there are much better hotels out there (I met folks staying in them, I was jealous!). The hotel was clean enough and common areas cute, but the room, especially the bathroom, felt old, tired and needing upgrades. The room was large, but with tiled floors, cheap sheets, a hard mattress, and only 2 pillows. It felt more like a motel. The bathroom was pretty rough (and older than what other reviews seem to picture) and minuscule. This is technically walkable to the center, but on a very busy commercial road and it’s not a nice walk, so the staff recommended I get a grab taxi. Cheap enough, but it’s not like location was a redeeming feature. The breakfast was fine but very basic, and if you are looking for a lovely continental breakfast this isn’t it (wonder bread and water melon was it on that front). Staff were kind but not so geared for recommendations etc. The photos looked nice, but I was bummed I spent three nights here.
Friendly and helpful staff, excellent breakfast buffet, funky pool, adequate rooms. Well-located in Chiang Rai to grab transportation to the major sites (White Temple, Blue Temple, night market and town area), and there is ample parking if you are driving to Chiang Rai. Our only compliant is that the walk to the night market area was a little dicey with lots of bigger roads to cross - OK for us as two adults, maybe not for others.
Quirky hotel in Moroccan style in the middle of Chiang Rai. The best thing was the pool. This hotel is on a very noisy main road and the walls are thin so you can hear other people speaking in their rooms. Breakfast was poor, eggs cold and not a big choice. It is 3 stories high with no elevator and the stairs are steep.Bathroom very cramped
I ever came here before when the hotel just start everything so happy and staffs is so friendly. But this time is my 2nd times to come back. Every thing still good but it doesn’t meet my expectation. Some staffs is very friendly but someone just average. Anyway foods is very very good.
Very focussed on English and Chinese speaking tourists. Swimming pool only has sun in morning until latest 4pm. Minibar is not free, although no message anywhere to warn.
